Week 10 Start Em Sit Em: DeAngelo Williams, Brandon Jacobs and Others To Bench

Zach KruseNov 9, 2011

Don't hesitate to put these six players on your fantasy bench in Week 10 of the NFL season:

Josh Freeman, Bucs

Freeman has thrown four picks to just three scores over the past two weeks, and he's going up against the most improved pass defense in the NFL in the Texans.

In the last three games, Houston hasn't given up more than 150 yards passing. With this matchup looming for Freeman, it might be time to find a better option in Week 10.

He's yet to be ruled out for Thursday's game, but McFadden wasn't at the Raiders' walkthrough on Wednesday and has been on crutches all week. Those are signs that point to McFadden missing another game this week. To be 100 percent safe, keep McFadden on your fantasy bench.

After being mostly invisible for the better portion of the 2011 season, Jacobs ran for 72 yards and a score against the Patriots in Week 9. He got that opportunity because of an injury to Ahmad Bradshaw during the week.

While Bradshaw likely won't be back this week, facing the 49ers' first-ranked fantasy defense against the run won't be easy for Jacobs.

DeAngelo Williams, Panthers

While he's averaging almost five yards a carry in 2011, the opportunities just haven't been there for Williams. In eight games this season, he has yet to go over 12 carries in any one game. That's simply not enough for you to feel good about keeping him in your fantasy lineups.

Reggie Wayne, Colts

Wayne's inclusion on this list should be no surprise. He's become an afterthought now that Curtis Painter in the Colts quarterback. Wayne hasn't caught a touchdown pass or gone over 80 yards receiving since Week 1.

Darius Heyward-Bey, Raiders

After a promising start to his season, Heyward-Bey was essentially benched in Week 9. He played only a handful of snaps and saw just one target come his way from Carson Palmer. With so many names clogging the Raiders' depth chart at receiver, DHB might be the one who gets crowded out.
