NFL Week 10 Picks: Houston Texans, Green Bay Packers Sure to Win in Style

Ryan PhillipsNov 9, 2011

There are some fantastic matchups in Week 10 of the 2011 NFL season, but two teams appear ready to come away with easy wins.

The Houston Texans won their third straight game on Sunday with a 30-12 victory over the Cleveland Browns. Without stud defender Mario Williams and stud receiver Andre Johnson, the Texans have somehow managed to get back on track and look like a serious contender in the AFC with a 6-3 record.

This weekend Houston travels to Tampa Bay to take on the 4-4 Buccaneers. Tampa has lost three of its last four games after a 3-1 start and looks like a team without a true identity right now.

Meanwhile, the Texans have built their season on the rock-solid foundation of running the ball on offense and stopping the run on defense. Houston currently boasts the NFL's top defense, allowing just 274.0 yards per game.

The Texans also have the league's second-ranked rushing attack (155.1 yards per game) thanks to Arian Foster's return to full health.

This weekend Houston will continue rolling against the Buccaneers, and the Texans will head into their Week 11 bye with a 7-3 record.

The Green Bay Packers are now 8-0 after getting past the San Diego Chargers, 45-38, in Week 9 and will welcome the 2-6 Minnesota Vikings to town for a Monday Night Football showdown in Week 10. There is no reason the Packers should be worried about dropping this one.

For the Packers it all starts with Aaron Rodgers, who maybe be in the middle of the best start to a season for a quarterback in NFL history. Through eight games this season, Rodgers has completed 192 of 265 passes for 2,619 yards, with 24 touchdowns and just three interceptions. He leads the NFL in completion percentage (72.5 percent), yards per attempt (9.88) and quarterback rating (129.1).

This weekend Rodgers and his offense will face a Vikings team that ranks 30th in passing defense and has allowed a whopping 273.6 yards per game. The Packers should light up Minnesota on Monday night.

In Week 7 the Packers snuck by with a close 33-27 win over the Vikings, but that was on the road and before Green Bay's bye. Right now the Packers are just too good for the Vikings and they should cruise to a win and move to 9-0.
