WWE: 6 Things We Need to See When Raw Gets 'Rock'ed

TJ NagyNov 9, 2011

Finally...in the less than a week, The Rock will be back on Raw.

No doubt that the entire wrestling community is pumped for this, and it's certainly going to be a momentous occasion, even for the casual fan.

With Survivor Series right around the corner, The Rock's return is going to be one of the most historical moments since...well...the last time that The Rock returned. Either way, it's never a bad thing when The Great One graces us with his presence.

There's still plenty of things that the WWE has to do, though, to set up Survivor Series that doesn't concern The Rock.

Here's a few things that I hope are on the WWE's list for one of the biggest Raw events of the year.

Ryder Confronting Ziggler

1 of 7

If you don't visit some other wrestling websites, you may be a little surprised that Dolph Ziggler vs. Zack Ryder is on the card for Survivor Series.

Why? Beats me. It's for the United States title though, so that's cool I guess. Expect a pretty good match either way.

Both guys can put on quite a show in the ring, and they've had a nice little feud going over the last few weeks. But still, for an upcoming US title match at Survivor Series, I feel like both men have barely interacted with each other, let alone set up a truly compelling feud.

That has to change on Monday. Ryder is still rolling along on his quest to become more than a one-hit wonder, while Ziggler is too busy losing matches to JoMo of all people and over-bleaching his hair to really care about Survivor Series.

If this thing is going to actually take off, they need to dedicate a good chunk of time on Monday to this rivalry. Just give both of these guys a mic and just let them go at it for a few minutes.

That should at least give this rivalry a pillar to stand on going into Survivor Series.

P.S. Can anyone tell me where Ziggler got the Internet Title? Did he make that or something?

More Kevin Nash

2 of 7

Was it just me...or did Kevin Nash actually draw some pretty nice heat on Raw last week?

For the first time since his shocking return, Nash actually held my attention when he had a microphone in his hand. Nash using backstage terms like "pop" and "booked" was the icing on top of an already intriguing promo.

He looked younger and fresher, too, showing that maybe an in-ring return wouldn't be such a bad thing after all.

Even if Triple H is sitting at home recovering, why not keep this feud going? Let Nash grab the mic again next Monday and let him continue to build this thing up. Who knows? Maybe a Trips appearance in some way or another isn't that far off, either.

Plus, I really want to hear that nWo music again. It gets me every time.

If the WWE really plans on turning this rivalry into a worthwhile match at an upcoming PPV, it's best to start this thing off right, and start it now.

Even if The Game won't be back for a little while longer, keeping Nash on our televisions every single night isn't a bad call at all, especially if he's cutting promos like the one from last week.

Brodus Clay

3 of 7

OK...now this is getting a little ridiculous.

The WWE must have some pretty big plans for big, bad Brodus Clay since they've been showing the same promo for weeks. They also pushed back his debut, apparently because John Laurinaitis hates the Brits.

Although I doubt they'll actually find a place to put Clay on the Survivor Series card, there's no reason why he shouldn't debut next week. It'll make Raw even more interesting than it already will be, and quite frankly, I'm tired of seeing those promos.

I'm personally going to go with Clay becoming Laurinaitis' bodyguard for a short while, then he'll fit perfectly as Vickie Guerrero's third client.

With the promos we've seen recently, expect big things in the future either way.

Give the CM Punk-ADR Match a Stipulation

4 of 7

I'm sure I'm not the only one who isn't overly stoked for the WWE title match at Survivor Series. Something has been a little off throughout this whole build-up, and not even CM Punk has really been able to capture my attention.

He did a pretty good job last Monday during his promo with ADR, though. I'm so happy that Punk pointed out just how boring ADR can be on the mic sometimes.

Still, their match at Survivor Series is looking a little dull. The WWE needs to spice things up a little bit and throw in some kind of stipulation.

Something along the line of No Holds Barred will do just fine, and maybe ADR putting CM Punk through that table last week was an ominous sign of things to come.

Of course, TLC is only next month, and I'm sure this little feud between the two isn't going to end at MSG.

I know that both men are capable of putting on a wrestling clinic if given the chance.

For the sake of this PPV, though, this match needs a stipulation if the WWE actually wants people to care about any other match but the one that the The Rock is in.

Speaking of that guy...

The Rock Needs to Confront Everybody

5 of 7

Well duhhhhhhhhhhh.

This one's incredibly obvious, but that doesn't mean that The Rock doesn't have to do it.

Basically, The Great One has three hours to sell Survivor Series to the entire WWE Universe, but if anybody can do it, it's him.

A few Rock Bottoms here, a People's Elbow there and you've got enough hype for November 20.

Of course, I'm not just talking about The Miz and R-Truth, maybe even John Cena will be caught in the middle of The Rock's wrath.

These two guys cannot possibly expect to coexist right off the bat, and I assume that most of you believe the same thing. Again, I doubt these two legends can straighten things out once the three hours are up, so things will get even more interesting once the actual match takes place.

Plus, they'll be in the only place where Cena is actually not completely booed, the TD Garden in Boston. For the first time ever, The Rock will be in the heart of Cenation when they travel to Cena's hometown.

I'm not saying that The Rock won't get cheered, I'm just saying that Cena has a solid army to back him up this time, which certainly won't happen in MSG, or Miami for that matter.

There's no doubt in my mind that The Rock will be very hesitant to join forces with Cenation, especially in Boston. Expect The Rock to go out there and put boots to asses all by himself...for now.

Some Surprise Appearances (aka Mick Freakin' Foley)

6 of 7

The WWE is going to pull out all the stops for when Raw gets Rocked. You know it and I know it.

The Rock is a great start, but if the WWE really wants to make a splash, they'll keep the surprises coming all night long.

Even if they won't be at MSG, seeing some other fresh faces will do wonders for Raw's viewership—and ultimately their PPV buys—if they can sell enough people on this awesome event.

And no...Pee Wee Herman doesn't count as a "fresh face."

Where's Stone Cold been lately? I'm sure he's not too busy to show up and drink a few beers.

Shawn Michaels? Maybe if Triple H can't be there, The Heartbreak Kid should be the one to confront his buddy Kevin Nash and tell him to stop.

Vince McMahon? What does this old owner have to say about all that's been going on lately?

And then of course...there's Mick Foley. He was recently in England, and rumors about a return to television have been blowing up for months.

If Foley was even to return, just for a brief appearance, it would undoubtedly do wonders for this already very anticipated show.

I mean...who doesn't want to see The Rock-and-Sock Connection reunite?

Even if it's somebody not as big as Foley, everybody loves a surprise, and if the WWE wants to keep people talking about November 20, they'll pull out every single stop that they can.
