NFL Power Rankings Week 10: Pegging Biggest Movers from Week 9

Chris TrapassoNov 8, 2011

Teams are going to be moving up, down, then back up again in all NFL Power Rankings over the final seven weeks of the season.

Get used to it.

Which teams were the biggest movers in this week?

New York Giants

The Giants went from No. 7 to No. 3 in my rankings for Week 10. A win in Foxborough with Tom Brady under center will do that. Eli Manning was calm in the fourth quarter and led an outstanding game-winning drive.

With Manning playing at an elite level (yes, I said it), and their defensive line terrorizing quarterbacks better than any other team in football, this is a very dangerous playoff team.

Cincinnati Bengals

Andy Dalton and his Bengals made a modest move from No. 9 to No. 7 this week, and I'll give them credit, I didn't think they could win two consecutive games on the road.

Their rookie quarterback played like a seasoned veteran in the second half against the Titans and their defense is no joke. The Cincinnati Bengals—the AFC's No. 1 seed right now.

Buffalo Bills

The Bills dropped from No. 6 to No. 12 this week after they were dominated in the final two quarters at home against the Jets. A divisional home loss will do that. Ryan Fitzpatrick was confused by the Jets' zone blitzes and Fred Jackson had an average day by his standards.

Buffalo's season hinges on its upcoming three-game road trip.

New England Patriots

Bill Belichick's club moved down from No. 4 to No. 9 heading into Week 10.

Something's wrong with the Patriots. I'm not afraid to make that claim. They've played three good defenses in a row, but Brady has been more flustered than I've ever seen him and their defense isn't necessarily improving.

Teams will go into games with far more confidence against New England for the remainder of the season and they'll need to get masterful performances out of Brady to win consistently.
