Fantasy Football Week 10: Who's Hot, Who's Not at the RB Position?
Week 10 of the NFL Football Season presents many Fantasy Football questions for owners. Many owners must make decisions about their starters, especially at running back, based on injuries and bye weeks.
This week, the analysis focuses on the most injury-riddled position in the NFL: running back. At that position you'll learn who's hot and who's not. Who's putting up big numbers and who's disappeared?
If you start the wrong player, you could end up hurting your team more than helping. Don't be duped into playing some of these guys. Then, again, make sure you have this week's hot players in the lineup if you want to score serious points.
Arian Foster: Hot
1 of 10Nobody has been as consistent as the Texans' running back. Not only does it help that he's one of the NFL's premiere running backs, but he's playing on a team that looks like a serious playoff contender.
Start Arian Foster at all costs.
Demarco Murray: Hot
2 of 10Where did this guy come from? Everybody knew the Oklahoma product could play good football, but wow! He single-handedly caused the Dallas Cowboys to dump Tashard Choice. It's likely Demarco Murray will put up significant points on Sunday, as well.
Matt Forte: Hot
3 of 10Matt Forte is a work horse for the Chicago Bears. On a team that has a bad offensive line, Jay Cutler is forced to dump the ball short when protection breaks down. And, despite the weak offensive line, Forte is still running for significant yardage. He's the Bears' rushing and receiving leader, if that gives you any clue about his abilities.
Fred Jackson: Hot
4 of 10The Buffalo Bills are really enjoying a strong year from Fred Jackson. He's also benefiting from a strong passing game by Bills signal caller Ryan Fitzpatrick. Jackson has been so productive that Buffalo has been relegated to moving backup running back CJ Spiller to wide receiver. If you have Jackson, he better be in your lineup.
LeSean McCoy: Hot
5 of 10Nobody is hotter than LeSean McCoy. The shifty running back for the Eagles is not only talented, but he's surrounded by a cast of players that loosens up defenses. When the defense has to focus on DeSean Jackson running deep and Michael Vick scrambling everywhere, it opens large running lanes for McCoy. Whether he's handed the ball or catching the ball, McCoy is eating up large chunks of yardage.
Delone Carter: Cold
6 of 10It's no secret the Indianapolis Colts are very bad right now. They have no passing game, which translates to no running game. Defenses can load up against the run when they know the other team can't pass. This causes running backs like Delone Carter to hurt their teams. In fact, he only had eight yards and a fumble last game.
Knowshon Moreno: Cold
7 of 10Knowshon Moreno came into Denver has a heralded product out of Georgia, but he's since been overshadowed by the Broncos stable of running backs.
Additionally, rival Florida product Tim Tebow is taking on a huge role in the running game. What does this mean? Less carries and less points for Moreno.
Kendall Hunter: Cold
8 of 10The San Francisco 49ers are living off of Frank Gore to provide offense in the running game. Opposing offenses are able to defend the run, knowing that San Francisco's passing game is less than perfect. Gore provides power on the inside. Kendall Hunter is simply being overshadowed and buried at the position.
Beanie Wells: Cold
9 of 10The Arizona running back is battling injury, including a stinger that made him look lost last weekend. Though Wells is normally a strong contributor, his numbers have taken a significant hit lately.
Wait a week to see if Wells can knock off the injury bug and return to form.
Ryan Grant: Cold
10 of 10Is he getting old or is he lost in the shuffle? Many fantasy owners have been disappointed in Ryan Grant this season. Though he plays on the league's best team, the passing game does not seem to be opening running lanes for the Notre Dame product.
It also hurts that Green Bay has a stable of talent in the backfield. Avoid Grant if possible.
