3. Buffalo Bills (5-3)
For a team trying to prove it belongs as an AFC East contender, the Bills surely took a step back in Week 9 against the New York Jets.
I expected Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick to struggle against the Jets' formidable pass defense.
What I didn't expect was for the Bills to lose, 27-11, at home. The Bills' sole touchdown came with 3:14 remaining in the game.
Fitzpatrick and the Bills are better than this and they know it. After collecting nine sacks against the Washington Redskins in Week 8, they sacked Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez just once in Week 9.
An all-around lousy performance for a team that's supposed to be on the rise.
2. Oakland Raiders (4-4)
Last season was supposed to mark the dawn of a new era for the Raiders, but they continue to be nothing more than a .500 team.
The secondary was bound to suffer when Nnamdi Asomugha left for the Philadelphia Eagles, but this defense as a whole is wildly inconsistent.
On top of that, I don't know if Carson Palmer is the answer at quarterback. After tossing 20 interceptions last season, he's tossed six interceptions to just three touchdowns in two games for the Raiders so far.
The Raiders gave up 299 rushing yards to the Denver Broncos in Week 9, including 118 rushing yards to Tim Tebow.
Gulp.
1. Kansas City Chiefs (4-4)
They're bad, they're good, they're putrid.
That's the way the Chiefs' season has gone so far.
After losing their first three games, the Chiefs won their next four.
So they were on the rebound, right?
Wrong. The Chiefs didn't just lose to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, they got clobbered. The Dolphins were 0-7 coming into the matchup and rode 244 passing yards and three touchdowns from Matt Moore to a 31-3 shellacking of the Chiefs.
This team has lost star running back Jamaal Charles to injury, but there's also enough talent to certainly beat the Dolphins.
The rumblings for head coach Todd Haley's removal grow louder.
