Tim Tebow: Broncos' QB Shouldn't Be Worried About Brady Quinn

Eric BallNov 6, 2011

Be careful what you wish for Bronco fans.

All of the fans that call Tim Tebow the worst quarterback in the NFL are thrilled to hear the news that Brady Quinn will be the second-string QB on the depth chart Sunday against the Oakland Raiders.

It’s no secret that head coach John Fox isn’t a Tebow fan, John Elway isn’t a Tebow fan and about 50-percent of Bronco Nation isn’t a Tebow fan.

We all know how last Sunday against the Lions went, but Tebow has shown flashes of brilliance in the small sample-size we have to judge him on. His college track record is still worth mentioning, the dude has won at every level. In other words, the jury is still out.

We already know what to expect from Quinn.

The former Cleveland Browns head coach has a grand total of 10 touchdowns in 14 career games. He has the ultimate noodle arm. He has no strength, a problem for a QB.

His 5.39 yards per completion is exceptionally awful.

He is dink-and-dunk to the max.

The Broncos need to open up the offense right now. The conservative style of Fox is crippling Tebow and the entire unit.

Sure Tebow can’t accurately throw the pigskin down the field, but at least he can move the rains via his legs and does take shots down the field.

I don’t think the Broncos believe Quinn is anything more than a backup either, and the decision to activate him was based on injuries to other players.

Cassius Vaughn and Virgil Green, two special team aces, are both out with injuries, leaving the Broncos with the luxury of having all three of their QBs on the 45-day game day roster.

Fans in Denver better hope so.

Because if the coaching staff throws Quinn into the game with such a horrendous offensive line and running game—the results are going to be ugly.

Tebow hasn’t shown much…but Quinn is even worse.
