Curtis Painter Video: Watch Colts QB Catch His Own Pass and Foolishly Try Again
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Curtis Painter caught his own pass and tried to throw the ball again during the first quarter of his team's Week 9 matchup versus the Atlanta Falcons.
Painter's initial pass was batted back to him by an Atlanta Falcons defensive lineman, leading him to immediately attempt another pass.
For those of you wondering if a quarterback can throw two passes on a single play, Indianapolis Star sports writer Philip Wilson explained via his Twitter account.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
"Guess Curtis Painter didn't realize you can't throw 2 forward passes on same play. #Colts QB tried anyway. Falcons lead 14-0, end of 1st.
"
It was a very bizarre play that saw Painter catch his own pass and attempt an illegal pass on one play, which rarely ever happens.
If you have been watching the Colts this season you may not be surprised this sort of stuff is happening. Without All-Pro quarterback Peyton Manning, the Colts have struggled mightily and are currently 0-9.
Painter is certainly not the answer at quarterback for the future of the Colts.
The team will think long and hard about drafting Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck with the first overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft if they hold the top selection.
Drafting Luck could mean trading Manning, whose uncertain health and future is a concern. Trading Manning will be hard, however, due to the massive new contract he signed prior to the season.
Through Week 8 of the season ,Painter has thrown for 1,123 yards with five touchdowns and four interceptions.
