Pacquiao vs. Marquez 3: Why Marquez Will Pull off a Stunning Upset

Nicholas GossNov 6, 2011

Juan Manuel Marquez will shock the boxing world when he defeats Manny Pacquiao on November 12.

Marquez's style is a difficult one for PacMan to handle, and Marquez's ability to read and react to PacMan's plan of attack is really helpful.

One thing Marquez must do to pull off the upset is attack PacMan when he makes a mistake.

Marquez has the strength and reach to hit Manny when he is out of position, and this strategy could really benefit Marquez on Saturday.

A prolonged fight could really help Marquez and test Pacquiao's stamina. Marquez looks stronger in his recent training sessions and looks to be more aggressive with his punches.

Even after struggling for much of the first two fights against Pacquiao, there's no question that Juan Manuel Marquez will come into this bout thinking he has one more good shot to defeat PacMan.

Marquez is a good fighter, and to upset PacMan, he has to be smart, strong and punish Pacquiao's mistakes.

Being able to read Manny's short punches will pay off greatly for Marquez, and if he can get Pacquiao down first, he will gain a huge psychological advantage.

Pacquiao cannot lose this fight, because then it will give Floyd Mayweather Jr. yet another excuse not to fight him, with Money May likely to say that PacMan wouldn't be worthy of fighting him after losing to Marquez.

All the pressure is on Manny Pacquiao to win this fight, and if Marquez can take the fight beyond the 10th round and counter PacMan's mistakes with devastating and effective punches, he will upset Pacquiao.
