BCS Rankings Week 11: Unheralded Teams with Legit BCS Dreams
Heading into Week 11 there are schools that will without a doubt be dropping in the standings, and while those schools are falling helplessly, others will be taking their spots at the top of the BCS rankings.
All teams in the NCAA have BCS dreams, but most of the teams that don’t get the love they deserve are pretenders. It is the few that are really legit that deserve the love.
The following are unheralded teams that have a chance of being serious BCS contenders going forward.
Penn State Nittany Lions
The No. 16 ranked, 8-1 Penn State Nittany Lions are the definition of unheralded this season, and despite not playing in Week 10, they will climb the rankings substantially.
With a huge test against the currently ranked No. 10 Nebraska Cornhuskers, the Nittany Lions have a chance to crash the BCS party.
Houston Cougars
The Houston Cougars are another example of a Boise State screw job if I have ever seen one and the fact that they will finish the rest of their games without a loss is perfect justice for what is going to happen to them.
Since they aren’t from an AQ conference, the Cougars have had to force the BCS computer’s hand and win huge every game, and last week, this week, or the next won’t keep Case Keenum from running the score up. Houston better get a big bowl berth.
Clemson Tigers
The Clemson Tigers have been the pride of the ACC this season, and despite a heartbreaking loss at the hands of Georgia Tech, the Tigers are legit.
The No. 11 Clemson Tigers are coming off a bye week and they will face a Wake Forrest team that will get beat down when they try to stop the Tigers offensive onslaught.
