Chris Carpenter Video: Watch Cardinals' Ace Skate with St. Louis Blues
Chris Carpenter went from winning his second World Series with the St. Louis Cardinals one week to being the fourth best defenseman on the St. Louis Blues the next.
Carpenter played defenseman in high school and was pretty talented—much more than most of the players that Blues have acquired with their shrewd moves over the past few seasons.
The Cardinals should lend Carpenter to the Blues in exchange for some cash in hopes that he can bring the booming shot to the team that it’s lacking.

Growing up in New Hampshire, hockey is like high school and college football in the south, and Carpenter was an all state defenseman.

Fans in St. Louis avoid the NHL rink like it’s the plague, minus the diehard fans of course, but Carpenter was probably the first one to volunteer to represent the team at a Blues game.
Carpenter is known as a family man, and the idea of taking his son to center ice to drop the puck on a NHL game is a once in a lifetime moment.
