Cleveland Browns vs Houston Texans: Spread Info, Line and Predictions

Nicholas GossNov 4, 2011

On Sunday, the Houston Texans will look to improve on their best start in franchise history when they take on the Cleveland Browns at home in Reliant Stadium, where they are 3-1 this NFL season.

All-Pro wide receiver Andre Johnson won't be able to help the Texans passing attack this week because of an injury. Houston has relied on running back Arian Foster to carry the burden offensively and he has done quite well.

The biggest reason for the Texans' success this season has been their defense, which has struggled ever since the team entered the league in the 2002 season.

Without having to worry about Browns running back Peyton Hillis, who is hurt and will miss the game, the Texans will easily be able to stop the Cleveland offense from scoring enough points to win.

Let's look at all you need to know about this game.

Where: Reliant Stadium, Houston, Texas

When: Sunday, Nov. 6 at 1:00 p.m. EST

Watch: CBS

Spread

Texans (-10.5), according to Bodog.eu

This game will be easily won by the Texans, and without any offensive playmaker, the Browns will struggle to score more than 10 points on Sunday.

Houston could easily score 35-plus points this week.

Over/Under

41, according to Bodog. These two teams will likely go over this number, and Houston may score 42 points all by themselves.

Key Injuries

Browns RB Peyton Hillis is questionable with a hamstring injury and likely won't play on Sunday.

Texans WR Andre Johnson (hamstring) and S Daniel Manning (ankle) are out of Sunday's game.

Texans LBs Brian Cushing (knee) and DeMeco Ryans (elbow) are probable.

Fantasy Big Plays

Texans running back Arian Foster has been great this season and rushed for 112 yards with a touchdown last week against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

With the Browns giving up 127.3 yards per-game on the ground, expect Foster to have another 100-yard rushing performance in Week 9.

Houston quarterback Matt Schaub is another good fantasy play this week, and in his last three games, he has thrown four touchdowns and no interceptions.

Schaub is starting to become consistent and will continue his impressive play this week against Cleveland.

Key to Texans' Win

Houston will win this game by forcing the Browns to put up 24-plus points. The Browns offense isn't one that can win a shootout and will have to play near-perfect football to match the Texans' offensive output.

Scoring on their first few drives and immediately putting the pressure on Cleveland would be helpful for Houston.

Keys to Browns' Win

The Browns must force turnovers to win this game. Forcing turnovers and cashing in on them would help them relax and plant a seed of doubt in the minds of the Texans players.

If quarterback Colt McCoy can play mistake free football and not turn the ball over, the Browns could have a chance.

Prediction

The Houston Texans will win this game because their offense is too powerful to be held under three touchdowns and the Browns offense has no threat to the Texans' defense.

Arian Foster will be effective in the running game and allow Houston to control the football and the clock.

Houston wins 38-13.
