2011 Breeders' Cup Odds: Why 'So You Think' Should Be Classic Favorite

Kyle VassaloNov 4, 2011

Everyone is gaga over 2011 Breeders' Cup Classic favorite Uncle Mo, but it's So You Think that should be commanding all of the attention in this race.

So You Think has hauled in a whopping $7.5 million during his career. That's more than any other horse in the race. So You Think was built to run this length, but some are foolishly caught up with the horse's transition from grass to dirt.

Stop it. He's not going from grass to lava. There are plenty of horses who make a painless transition between surfaces. So You Think is the best horse in this race. The fact that he's not the odds-on favorite is a bettors dream.

Everyone wants Uncle Mo to win. The horse battled back from a rare liver disease that forced him to withdraw from the Kentucky Derby. Uncle Mo is the Cinderella, feel-good story of the Breeders' Cup.

Though it may seem like Uncle Mo is destined to put a storybook ending on his improbable comeback, it's not going to happen.

Wishes and hopes don't equate to dollars and cents. The smart money here is on the "X" factor lurking under the radar. So You Think is far too dangerous to ignore.

Don't get caught up in the hype. Uncle Mo is generating so much attention that it's easy to lose sight of the other talented horses in the race.

Uncle Mo is still going to show, but writing off So You Think just because of the surface is ludicrous.
