Andy Murray: Can His Injury Affect His 2012 Season?
The current No. 3 player in the world just withdrew from the Swiss Indoors Basel Open last week.
He was scheduled to face Robin Haase of the Netherlands in his first match but felt a sharp pain on his body when he woke up the night before.
Andy Murray cited a right gluteal strain and noted how unusual the injury was. This untimely occurrence snapped the Scot's 15-match winning streak, which was his record to date, and caused him to withdraw from the tournament.
However, he is still technically on a winning streak, having won his opener against Jeremy Chardy in straight sets at the ATP 1000 Masters event in Paris.
He showed no signs of the ephemeral injury and also exhibited game play that explained why he has yet to lose a match since the U.S. Open semifinals.
Murray is usually one to show his small injuries to the crowd during a match, and since he did not make a big deal out of last week's health issue, it really could not have been serious at all.
Look for the British world No. 1 tennis star to keep rolling and to have an unaffected 2012 season.
