UFC 138 Fight Card: Chris Leben and the 5 Hardest-Hitting Middleweights

G DNov 4, 2011

On Saturday, November 5th, 2011, the UFC will travel to Birmingham, England in the United Kingdom.

The main card will be headlined around heavy-hitting middleweight Chris Leben, who will square off with up-and-coming star, Mark Munoz.

Many fans feel that Leben and Munoz's bout won't go the distance simply because of their ability to knock their opponents out.

While Leben and Munoz may be two of the hardest-hitting fighters in the 185-pound weight division, they certainly aren't the only ones.

So, the following slides display the five hardest-hitting middleweights in the UFC today.

Let's take a look.

Mark Munoz

1 of 5

While Mark Munoz may not necessarily be the hardest-hitting middleweight in the UFC today, he's certainly one of the more vicious strikers, especially from the ground.

Next to Chael Sonnen, Munoz is one of the most grueling ground-and-pound specialists in the sport of mixed martial arts.

Despite having only five knockouts to this point in his career, Munoz's hard hitting earns him a spot in the top five of the 185-pound division.

Anderson Silva

2 of 5

Anderson Silva, arguably the greatest fighter of all time, has established himself as one of the hardest-hitting middleweights in the UFC today.

Over the course of his mixed martial arts career, Silva has inflicted 18 different opponents with his knockout power.

Silva hasn't knocked out just the average fighter, as he's KO'd some of the world's greatest fighters in Vitor Belfort, Forrest Griffin and Rich Franklin.

Chris Leben

3 of 5

Not only is Chris Leben arguably the hardest hitter in the middleweight division, but he's one of the heaviest hitters in the entire UFC.

Leben has had the reputation of a hard hitter the day he set foot inside the Octagon, as he knocked out Jason Thacker in the first round of his UFC debut.

Over the course of his UFC career, "The Crippler" has knocked out seven opponents, with none being bigger than his KO victory over Wanderlei Silva at UFC 132.

Brian Stann

Brian Stann may very well be the hardest-hitting middleweight in the UFC today.

And despite being finished by Chael Sonnen at UFC 136, Stann remains atop the charts, as he's knocked out opponents such as Chris Leben, Jorge Santiago and Doug Marshall.

Stann, a former United States Marine, is best known for his heavy fists and grueling ground-and-pound strikes.

Vitor Belfort

5 of 5

Vitor Belfort is also believed to be arguably the hardest-hitting middleweight in the UFC.

Over the course of his long-lived mixed martial arts career, Belfort has captured a total of 20 wins, with 14 being a direct result of the knockout.

Belfort has knocked out UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture, Rich Franklin and Yoshihiro Akiyama
