NFL Picks Week 9: St. Louis Rams and More Teams Getting Close Wins

Gabe ZaldivarNov 4, 2011

The St. Louis Rams are heading into a multitude of meaningless games; they may have ruined their chances for the playoffs with a horrible start. If there is hope, it will increase with what is a guaranteed win against the Cardinals

The Rams are not the only team that will get a much-needed and well-deserved win in Week 9. The schedule is littered with teams that can really use a victory as we head into the most important part of the season.

Any misstep now will come back to haunt teams in just a few weeks. The sprint that is the NFL season continues with a bevy of nail-biters that will have you glued to that Cheetoes strewn couch of yours.

After a couple of brutally boring weeks, we finally get to see some exciting matches that will only benefit a select few, and here they are.

St. Louis Rams: The Rams may have said goodbye to any hope of them making the postseason, and it is remarkable when you consider how much promise this team had going into 2011.

Indeed, when they have a healthy Steven Jackson, they are a fantastic team, as shown by last week's win over the Saints. They will again control the majority of yards as a deplorable Cardinals defense is picked apart.

They have some easy games ahead, but they still need the Niners to come back to earth to even have a shot. After this week, they will have to settle for the smallest of hope.

Philadelphia Eagles: The Eagles are done losing—they have to be if they are hoping to control the division. The darkest days indeed have to be well behind them.

The defense is clicking and the star cornerbacks have finally figured out their roles. I like them over a Chicago Bears team that is far too inconsistent to trust.

Kansas City Chiefs: That emotional win over the Chargers is just what this team needed. They looked like long-shots to duplicate their division win in 2010. With the Chargers faltering, the door is wide open; now they just have to continue winning—and they will.

Miami has pretty much cashed in this season. Their defense is atrocious and their offense is in shambles. Injoy Chiefs fans.
