10 Reasons Why Mayhem Miller Is a Better Coach Than Michael Bisping
Jason "Mayhem" Miller is one of MMA's most recognizable fighters. As host of MTV's Bully Beatdown, Miller brought in MMA fighters to help victims get back at their terrorizers.
Now, Miller is coaching opposite Michael Bisping on this season of The Ultimate Fighter. Despite having less experience than Bisping with the show, Miller has held his own on the show. Miller has even come across as the better coach on the show.
Here are the reasons why Mayhem is better than Bisping.
He Handles Bad Situations with a Cool Head
1 of 10Although Miller has had his good moments, there have also been some bad ones.
Miller almost lost one fighter because of an injury, and another one gave out fight matchups to the other team.
Although the situations were disappointing, Miller kept a cool head throughout both situations.
He Has More Control over His Fighters
2 of 10Despite the exception of Team Mayhem member John Dodson telling Team Bisping the fight matchups, most Miller's team has gotten along.
Bisping's team, on the other hand, can't say the same.
On multiple occasions, sparring between fighters has gotten too intense to the point that arguments are starting.
On the most recent episode, Team Bisping member TJ Dillashaw got roughed up during sparring because his members considered him a draft dodger.
He Has Better Relationships with His Fighters
3 of 10One of the best things a coach can do is have a good relationship with his fighters.
Although Bisping has done well with his fighters, Miller seems to connect with his better.
Whether it's sparring with them, laughing or coming up with pranks together, Miller seems more like one of the boys instead of an overbearing coach.
He's Not a Sore Winner Like Bisping
4 of 10Just like he was on season nine of TUF, Bisping is a sore winner. Instead of celebrating in a respectful manner, Bisping has to take it to another level by rubbing it in everyone's face.
Following one of his team's wins, Bisping gave a hypocritical speech about respecting the his team after his own blatant lack of respect.
His Team Is Winning
5 of 10So far, Team Mayham is up five to three.
Miller's team won the first four fights and almost made it look like they were going to run the table.
Although it's just the semifinals, Miller's done a good job thus far.
Miller Is Winning with the Odds Against Him
6 of 10Miller not only came into TUF with less experience than Michael Bisping, he also picked guys that did not look like the best fighters on the show. Despite this, Miller has been successful thus far on the show.
If Miller came into the show unsuccessful, it might not have been that big of a deal. But considering he's up against Bisping, who's won the show as both a participant and a coach, it shows just how good Miller is.
Miller's Had Better Pranks Thus Far
7 of 10Whether Bisping wanted to or not, he was going to get into a prank war with Miller. So far, Miller's team has filled Bisping's dressing room with tires and put highway barricades around one of his coach's cars.
Although next week's show promised Bisping would get revenge, so far, he's down 2-1.
His Fighters Actually Take Direction
8 of 10One edge that Team Mayhem has over Team Bisping is they actually listen to their coach. Although some of Bisping's fighters have won doing their own thing, it still doesn't get rid of the fact that they're supposed to be getting coached.
If a fighter gets in trouble, the first person they they usually turn to are their coaches and trainers. That has not been the case for team Bisping.
He Doesn't Go on Rants or Tangents Like Bisping
9 of 10Much like his first season as coach, Bisping has had his fair share of moments where he looked like a jerk.
While confrontations are expected between coaches, Bisping can take things to another level by not knowing when to shut up.
Miller Makes Guys Want to Come to the Gym
10 of 10Judging purely based on TUF, Mayhem is the type of guy that make you want to be on his team.
He's laid back, but very helpful at the same time.
He can pull pranks, but when it comes down to business, Mayhem is ready to go.
Although he can be goofy outside of the cage, Miller has surprisingly shown a lot of maturity during this season of TUF.
