NFL Week 9 Picks: Predicting Road Teams with Best Shots at Victory

Winning on the road is no easy feat, but two teams will make it seem that way after pulling out the visiting victory in Week 9.

The San Francisco 49ers travel to suburban D.C. to take on the Washington Redskins this week in one of two clear instances of the home team being the underdogs. However, Washington won't manage to defeat the far superior Niners on Sunday.

San Francisco is just too tough in every facet of the game to be derailed from their clear path to the playoffs by such an uninspiring team as the Redskins.

From offense to defense to special teams, the Niners are clearly one of the league's best. On the other hand, Washington continues to fall week by week, with all the components that led it to a 3-1 start crumbling around them.

The undefeated Green Bay Packers are another team that is going to find sure victory on the road. However, their path to yet another win should be more difficult than that of the 49ers.

They travel to San Diego to take on the Chargers on Sunday afternoon. While Philip Rivers and company are widely considered to be a major contender year after year, this season they've begun to fall flat.

However, that doesn't mean that they will just lie down for the Packers, who have a bigger target on their back than any other team in the league right now.

There is a very real way to defeat the Packers, and it lies in exploiting their 20th-ranked defense. Having said that, the Chargers have an even weaker defense than Green Bay. Add in their 19th-ranked offense, and it's going to be too much for San Diego to overcome in order to pull off a home win this week.
