Trade Talks on Cabrera/Cameron Still Going on
Espn.com reported early this morning that the Yankees offered the Brewers Melky Cabrera for Mike Cameron. People thought the deal was done, but that wasn’t true. The deal wasn’t done, and people speculated that the deal would grow to include Hall and Igawa. The Brewers also didn’t want to pay the remaining $10M on Cammy’s contract.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel believes the hurdle has been cleared in the proposed Mike Cameron-for-Melky Cabrera deal.
The matter at hand now is the second player coming over from the Yankees. Perhaps it will be one of the relievers passed over in the Rule 5 draft, like Kevin Whelan or J. Brent Cox.
I like this trade a lot. Melky just doesn’t cut it for the Yankees. He has a great arm and can field his position very well, but he can’t hit at all. On the other hand, Cameron is a 3X Gold Glove Award winner and will hit about 20-25 Hr’s a year. He’s got speed as well. Last season he stole 17 bases. His 162 Game Average is 28 SB’s.
