Fantasy Football Week 9: 5 Best Running Back Plays
This is the time of year where deciding whom you play each week is crucial. There will still be a few waiver wire pickups, but those guys are few and far between now. The most important thing is making sure you put the best lineup out there each and every week.
Here is a look at five running backs who are sure to have a big week.
Arizona Cardinals RB Beanie Wells
1 of 5The Rams are bad against the run. In fact, they are 32nd in the league against the run.
Beanie Wells played through a bone bruise in his knee last week against the Ravens and had a good game. He did not seem to aggravate the injury at all in that game.
He will have a field day this week against St. Louis. It will be even more important than normal for the Cardinals to run the ball with Kevin Kolb being banged up.
Atlanta Falcons RB Michael Turner
2 of 5Turner is already someone you are playing every week, but he is an especially good play this week against the Colts. They are giving up 144 yards per game on the ground.
Turner is also a good matchup against the Indianapolis defense because they have an undersized front. His numbers might not be great in the first half, but he will wear the defense down as the game gets into the second half.
Cincinnati Bengals RB Cedric Benson
3 of 5Cedric Benson returns from his one-game suspension this week against the Titans. He was averaging 19.5 carries per game before his suspension.
The Bengals will feed him the ball, and he will wear down the Titans defensive front that has struggled against the run this season.
Benson will also have fresh legs after having two weeks off because of the bye and suspension.
Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte
4 of 5It sure looks like Mike Martz has figured out that his offense is better with the ball in Matt Forte's hands. Forte will be that much more important in this game against the Eagles because the Bears will need him to help control the clock and keep Michael Vick off the field.
Buffalo Bills RB Fred Jackson
5 of 5Fred Jackson is probably the offensive player of the year right now. He might even be second the MVP voting behind Aaron Rodgers if the votes were cast today.
He has a good matchup this week against the Jets defense that is giving up 126.9 rushing yards per game.
