Reggie Bush Finally Finding Daylight With Miami Dolphins
Amidst the gloomy pall that has been the Miami Dolphins season, there perhaps is yet a ray of sunshine peeking through—Reggie Bush has actually looked pretty good recently.
And I'm not the only one who thinks so. Show them the light, Brad Evans:
"However, over the past three weeks, particularly Sunday in New York, Bush has undergone a remarkable transformation. Netting an increased workload with Daniel Thomas ailed by a hamstring injury, he's averaged 6.2 yards per carry and totaled 216 rushing yards during the stretch, including a 103-yard performance against the Giants. The last time he eclipsed the century mark on the ground in a game (Week 16, 2006), he had yet gripped the plump backside of a certain reality TV starlet.
"
OK, OK, let's not get carried away.
But for you fantasy folks out there, Bush has a pretty solid matchup against the Chiefs next week. While they don't give up a ton of rushing yards (124.3, ninth in the NFL), they have given up seven touchdowns to running backs this season.
And if Thomas continues to be hampered with a hamstring injury, expect Bush to see the lion's—er, Dolphins' share of the carries.
No, I wouldn't get your hopes up and expect Bush to suddenly become the player he was at USC. But for a guy that most people viewed as an overpaid third-down back, this is a pretty good start toward proving that he may still have some value as an every-down back.
At this point, I think the Dolphins will take any hope they can get.
