NFL Power Rankings Week 9: Final Record Predictions for Andrew Luck Race
Currently there are four teams at the bottom of the NFL food chain who desperately could use Andrew Luck in 2012.
Obviously Luck wasn't amused by the "Suck for Luck" trend that's going on, but the four franchises listed have good reasoning. They need him to turn around and save the franchise, but then again, it's not like Andrew hasn't been under pressure or the spotlight before.
So with that said, here are the final records for each of the teams in the "Suck for Luck" race of the 2012 NFL Draft.
Seattle Seahawks (2-5)
By season's end the Seattle Seahawks will manage to get just one more W. The road win in New York was thanks to Eli Manning, well, pulling an Eli Manning and winning at home over Arizona holds no weight.
The Great Northwest is slowly becoming an easier place to win and Pete Carroll's final victory of 2011 comes over the St. Louis Rams at home in Week 14 on Monday night. Seattle ends up with a Top 5 pick, but they just miss out on Andrew Luck.
But, no need to worry as the 2012 NFL Draft is loaded with some solid QBs.
Prediction: 3-13
Denver Broncos (2-5)
Thanks to the revival of RB Willis McGahee, the Denver Broncos win two more games. With a slowly improving defense, they get two home wins over the New York Jets in Week 11 and revenge on Bears' QB Jay Cutler in Week 14.
Tim Tebow clearly isn't the answer any more than Kyle Orton, and although the Broncos miss out on Andrew Luck, they still finish with a Top 10 draft choice.
And in addition to a QB, Denver needs help almost everywhere else anyway, so don't be surprised if the Broncos continue to build a foundation on defense to help out Von Miller, Elvis Dumervil, and Rahim Moore, among some of their other youngsters.
Prediction: 4-12
Indianapolis Colts (0-8)
The Colts have arguably been playing harder and giving more effort than any other team right now. Well, all that pays off when the finally get a W in 2011. It comes at the hands of the Tennessee Titans on December 15 at home.
Thanks to a weak Titans' offense and a susceptible defense, Indy finds a way to win with the home crowd backing their every snap. And despite winning, Indy snags the No. 1 overall pick and becomes the home of Andrew Luck.
It's a perfect fit even though Peyton Manning may still return, but nonetheless, Luck hits the ground running as he diligently learns from Manning until the legendary QB hangs up the cleats one last time.
Prediction: 1-15
Miami Dolphins (0-7)
So Dolphins' fans you missed out on Andrew Luck, no big deal. The good news is that the two wins you got over the Redskins and Jets at home still kept you with the No. 2 overall pick.
There, you can take Oklahoma's Landry Jones to go with a new head coach—for your sake—and have a fresh start and feeling of hope for 2012.
However, since you missed out on Luck, maybe you trade down your No. 2 overall pick and add another first round pick for 2013. Then you draft a prosperous QB in the second or third round to compete with Matt Moore.
The QB competition will make both guys better and you'll rationally build for a much better 2013.
Prediction: 2-14
