Texas Tech vs. Texas: TV Schedule, Radio, Game Time and More
Texas Tech and Texas aren't bitter rivals just yet, but they are getting there.
This year the two teams come into this matchup with lot on the line.
A Big 12 championship is virtually out of the question for both teams, but they still have a lot to play for.
The Longhorns are still in the rankings because their only losses of the season came at the hands of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.
The Red Raiders on the other hand, beat the Sooners but have lost two close games with Kansas State and Texas A&M before dropping an inexcusable game to Iowa State at home last week.
Neither team can afford a loss this week.

Key Storyline: Consistency
A week after upsetting the previously undefeated Oklahoma Sooners, the Red Raiders were trounced at home by the Iowa State Cyclones. That is not good football. That is not good coaching. And that is trouble for a team that could have broken into the Top 25.
Instead the Red Raiders have to prove themselves again, this time in Austin.
The Longhorns, meanwhile, need more consistency from young David Ash under center. He's got fellow freshman running around him in the backfield and a freshman receiver on the outside.
This team has the makings to be very, very good in a year's time, but to win this year they need to show more consistency.

BCS/Top 25 Implications
A win for the Red Raiders still won't land them a Top 25 ranking.
The Longhorns, on the other hand, need to be wary. Texas Tech lost to K-State by five points, A&M by seven and knocked off the Sooners in Norman.
This team is as dangerous as any in the country.
A loss for Texas will surely bounce them from the rankings.
What They're Saying
Kirk Bohls of The Statesman talks about how this matchup could be the next big rivalry:
"Meet the new, best, in-state rivalry from Denton to Del Rio (unless TCU-Texas heats up really quickly). Texas-Tech has got all the makings of a traditional throwdown with classic games and upsets like 2008, popular coaches like Royal and Brown, Spike Dykes and Mike Leach, and colorful mascots like Bevo and Raider Red.
"It's got so many trappings that Texas Tech is pushing hard for a regular Thanksgiving date with Texas. The Longhorns are holding out for Notre Dame. Nothing personal, Tech.
"And that's the difference. It was always personal between Tech and A&M, from torn-down goalposts to trashed buses. There's more healthy respect between Tech and Texas."
With the way that conference realignment is going, it may be all they have left.
Texas Tech Player to Watch: Seth Doege, QB
The Red Raiders typically have a stat machine at quarterback and one dominant receiver.
This year Seth Doege is spreading the ball around beautifully and not turning the ball over. He's completing 68 percent of his passes, has 22 touchdowns and only six interceptions.
If he can find a way to beat the talented young Longhorn cornerbacks this team will certainly have a shot to win.
Texas Player to Watch: Blake Gideon, S
The lone senior in the starting Texas secondary, Gideon is going to be a huge factor against the Red Raiders offense.
He's played with a number of first round picks in his past, has a number of talented younger players looking up to him and is one the few players Mack Brown can trust on the back end.
Expect to see his No. 21 around on game day.
Key Matchup: Longhorns Pass Rush vs. Texas Tech O-Line
The Red Raiders have only given up 12 sacks all season.
If the Longhorns don't find a way to get after Doege then they'll be in trouble on the back end.
The secondary is already going to have their work cut out for them as it is. Any help from the defensive line would be huge.
Prediction: Texas Tech 35, Texas 30
