WWE: Why Is Aksana Trying to Manipulate Teddy Long on WWE Smackdown?

Perhaps the least talked about storyline is the budding relationship between Aksana and Smackdown general manager Teddy Long. The odd storyline has been going on for the past three months and doesn't seem to have a clear end just yet. After a few weeks apart, Aksana reappeared talking to Long during last week's Smackdown. The relationship that began with Aksana trying to seduce Long has now turned into what seems to be a relationship.

Just this past week, the two stated how much they missed one another and went into Long's office, suggesting a relationship beyond being just co-workers. The big problem with this storyline is what could the possible payoff be and who else could be involved. Let's look at the facts here.

Aksana was a castoff from NXT season three with blond hair and a thick Lithuanian accent. Now, she is a woman who always has sexy music playing when she is on camera with black hair and a thick Lithuanian accent. Despite not really changing much about her, Aksana's new wardrobe and hairstyle has really seemed to change her appeal on the main roster, at least as a valet.

When we last saw Aksana, she was featured on the NXT program and had one of the biggest storylines in the brand's history. She was paired with Goldust, who took a special liking to his rookie. Aksana was experiencing issues with her citizenship, prompting Goldust to ask her to be married. At the wedding, because WWE weddings often go so well, Aksana turned heel on Goldust to show her selfishness for the events going on. She was later eliminated.

Teddy Long is no stranger to WWE weddings. Long nearly married Kristal Marshall in September 2007. Right before accepting, Long fainted and clutched his chest as if to suggest a heart attack. Long, at least on the surface, seems to have cleared the issues from what was a potential scary ending to his WWE career. Long has not been romantic with anyone on-screen since the incident with Kristial, so these two weddings do have some significance.

Aksana and Teddy Long are quickly becoming a thing and only a wedding may be able to change that. Clearly, her courting of the general manager is done for the purpose of seducing Long and getting him to do whatever she wanted. Her personal gain doesn't seem to be great enough, so there certainly is someone else involved in this story.

Is Aksana working for someone? If so, who could it possibly be? There haven't been any clues to suggest anyone, but know that whoever gets linked to this storyline could theoretically hold some weight on Long. Whoever that person is could be in line for some big-time heel heat and a push on Smackdown. It could even impact Long's job as GM, which he has had for a very long time.

Smackdown is sure to heat up thanks to the steamy and unusual relationship between Aksana and Teddy Long. Hopefully in the next few weeks, we can make a little sense of the storyline that nobody is talking about.
