Kim Kardashian Divorce: The Biggest Rumors Surrounding Split with Kris Humphries

Amber LeeNov 1, 2011

Well Kim Kardashian filed from divorce from her husband of 72 days, Kris Humphries, and the rumors are already out of control.

Kim hasn't given her official interview, which undoubtedly will net her seven figures, but the Internet is abuzz with speculation over what doomed her ill-fated union.

So far there have been a number of reports from "sources" and "insiders" who spoke on the condition of anonymity. Here are the biggest rumors so far surrounding their split.

Kris Was Just Chasing Fame

1 of 5

Many people thought Kris was getting more out of this whole marriage thing than Kim. He was a no-name New Jersey Net just one year ago, and today he's one of the most (in)famous men in the country.

So was he that into Kim or was this entire thing just a ploy on his part to make a career for himself outside the NBA? Considering they met, were engaged, got married and filed for divorce in exactly one year, it certainly seems like there was some degree of planning on the part of at least one of them.

Perhaps it was Kris?

Probably not.

Anyway. TMZ has all the deets on Kris allegedly "chasing fame."

Kim Had Lunch with Reggie Bush

2 of 5

The plot thickens! According to MediaTakeOut.com Kim had an "INTIMATE lunch date with Reggie Bush…while her hubby was OUT OF TOWN!!!"

I love MediaTakeOut.com. If you don't visit them daily, you should.

According to an insider who spoke on the condition of anonymity (always!), Kim and Reggie met at Bar Massa, a high-priced sushi restaurant in New York City.

The Dolphins running back was in town to play the Giants and had some extra time in the city thanks to the freak October snow storm.

MediaTakeOut.com took special glee in reporting this story as well as the divorce, which is why they are awesome.

Kim Wanted a Knick but Settled for a Net

3 of 5

So apparently, and according to Gothamist.com, Kim was on the prowl for a New York Knick before settling for her New Jersey Net. Here's what Gothamist (via Wetpaint) had to say about Kim (and her thighs):

"

Before Kim Kardashian clamped her thighs of doom around New Jersey Net Kris Humphries, she was apparently hunting down a sightly different prey: a Knick.

Wetpaint is reporting that Kardashian's producers tried to ensnare former forward Danilo Gallinari into dating the reality star, promising him that it would be "good for his career" and get him "lots of media exposure."

Apparently, both E! and Kardashian were interested in "having her date a big New York athlete for the debut season of "Kourtney & Kim Take New York," and the Knicks were their first choice. Nevermind that he was 22 at the time, to Kardashian's 30—age ain't nothin' but a number!

Sadly, Gallinari declined...Kardashian went on to have her Ultimate Dream Wedding with Humphries, which, in true fairy-tale tradition, is already rumored to be on the rocks.

Kris Had Gone "Hollywood"

4 of 5

According to several sources, including Aol TV and TMZ, Kim became convinced that her marriage was over after Kris hired a publicist, despite insisting he wanted to live a simple life in Minnesota. Kim allegedly told a friend:

"

"He's not in f*****g Hollywood, he plays sports!"

"

In Kris' defense, he played for the Nets…that hardly qualifies as playing sports.

Anywho.

The nerve of some people trying to cash in on pseudo celebrity by selling themselves to the highest bidder, right, Kim?

Can you believe Kris would do something like that? It's like Kris has no soul and that every second of his life is for sale to the highest bidder.

How did Kim deal with Kris and his disgusting media whoring and endless reality shows and his Internet sex tape.

That must have been hard for Kim.

The Whole Thing Was a Stunt...Hoax...Sham...Trick...Fake

5 of 5

Confirming what I've suspected all along, RadarOnline.com has reported the whole wedding was a hoax.  Well…confirming in this case might just mean making something up that suits them, but it's as credible as anything else at this point. The omnipresent but never identified sources told Radar:

"

“The whole wedding was a total hoax and a publicity stunt. It was great for ratings and it was an amazing money maker. That’s it though, period. Kris turned out to not be as malleable as everyone hoped he would be, he was pictured out partying with other girls, Kim really couldn’t care less for him, she decided to end it.”

"

The UK's Daily Mail is also reporting the hoax theory and claims that E! executives have been in emergency meetings since the announcement, trying to figure out how to deal with the media onslaught.

Something tells me those "emergency meetings" are going a little something like this:

"

Executive 1: Did you see that Kim already filed for divorce?

Executive 2: You bet. Pretty awesome right?

Executive 1: Yep, just like we planned.

Executive 2: Man, people are stupid as hell.

(high-fives around the room)
