Pacquiao vs Marquez: Why Pacman Will Finally Give Series Its 1st Knockout
Manny Pacquiao is going to knock out Juan Marquez and finally give this series of fights a definitive finish.
These two have met twice before, and neither fight resulted in a clear victor. But a lot has changed since these two last met nearly four years ago.
The First Two Fights
In 2004, these two fought to a draw. Four years later, they had a rematch. The results were very similar to their first fight. However, Pacquiao won that one by a split decision.
The Differences
The first and most obvious is age. Marquez in the greater position to have this age adversely affect him. He is 38, while Manny is about to turn 33.
That is certainly not the only difference, or even the one that will make the biggest difference. That would be Pacquiao's right hand.
Bob Arum said the following, as quoted on philstar.com:
""It’s all because Pacquaio will demonstrate that his right hand is awful as the left.
"If it’s the same ‘Pacquiao’ that fought Marquez four years ago who will fight him (Marquez) on Nov. 12, it will be a close fight. But, Pacquiao had no right hand four years ago."
"
With the addition of a stellar right hand, Pac-Man has been unbeatable. He is a complete fighter and his offense has no holes.
Prediction
Pacquiao's offense is too much for Marquez to handle. Marquez will need to rely on his counter punching, but Pacquiao's ability to throw deadly punches from anywhere and with either hand is going to limit Marquez's ability to counter.
It is also going to result in him getting knocked out in the fifth round.
