2008 Pro Wrestling Awards: 2008 Boss Of The Year
"Because it's just another day in the life of ***damn boss!"---The Boss from Rick Ross
We have seen that being the boss is not exactly the easiest job in the world. Everyone who is a Community Leader on Bleacher Report should know this by now. But even the bosses deserve a little credit where credit is due. With that said, here are the nominees for the 2008 Boss of the Year.

Fresh Backstage WWE Rumors 👊

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
#1) Mike Adamle/Stephanie McMahon, RAW
The Adamle Era lasted the summer, but it didn't have enough steam to last past Cyber Sunday. Prior to Survivor Series, the man who needs to have words put in his mouth relinquished his seat as GM of RAW due to losing his temper on Randy Orton the week before.
Insert former RAW GM Stephanie McMahon. Despite being in a power struggle with her brother, Stephanie has decided to take over the role of the hand that feeds on RAW. Since she tookover, she has shown favoritism to the #1 Contender, Chris Jericho, and to the Legend Killer, Randy Orton. But regardless, no one has seem to want to cross paths with the Billion Dollar Princess. Adamle started the trend that has brought RAW back from Fan Obscurity, but Stephanie is bringing it back to the Flagship Stage.
But did they do enough to earn the right to be called the Boss of 2008?
#2) Armando Estrada/Teddy Long, ECW
"My name is Armandoooo Alejandroooo Esssssssstrada! Ha Ha!" This is how ECW started almost every broadcast. The new ECW GM brought anarchy to a whole new level with his personal war against Colin Dulaney and his part in keeping ECW Originals from becoming the ECW Champion.
But the Board of Directors decided that with a change in the roster comes a change in the management. Enter former SD GM Teddy Long. When Long came aboard, he decided to light a fire under Estrada by allowing Dulaney to get some payback, putting Tommy Dreamer in the hunt for the ECW Championship and even starting the New Superstar Initiative that introduced us to stars like Ricky Ortiz, Primo Colon & the high flying Evan Bourne.
Today, the "Thuggin' and Buggin'" Era has even old school ECW fanatics rejoicing at the arrival of the Mac Militant to the Land of Extreme. And with Matt Hardy realizing a lifelong dream of becoming World Champion at Unforgiven, Teddy Long could be the Boss for a long time to come. But did he arrive with enough steam to become the Mac Militant Boss of 2008?
#3) Jim Cornette/Jeff Jarrett/Mick Foley, TNA
When Jeff Jarrett took his sabbatical from TNA to be with his wife and mourn her passing last year, he left the company in capable hands...or so he thought. Jim Cornette had a good run as the man who would lead TNA to the mainstream. But after Jarrett came back, it was clear that Cornette would be nothing more than a side project.
But what Jarrett did next would leave Cornette fighting for his job. After showing the WWE that they can play with the big boys, Jarrett brought in one of its biggest acquisitions since the arrival of Kurt Angle and Booker T: Mick Foley! The Hardcore Legend even became an Executive Shareholder of the company. Since the arrival of Foley, the three men have done their best in keeping the company once dubbed "The Minor Leagues of Professional Wrestling."
Now with the big egos taking control, the three men have started to band together to give the fans hope that TNA won't suffer the same fate as WCW or the old school ECW. But did the Three Stooges do enough to Nark Nark Nark the award for the Boss of 2008?
#4) Vickie Guerrero, SmackDown
She started as the assistant GM to Teddy Long, and was mainly brought in as a way to show respect to the infamous Guerrero name left by her late husband, Eddie. Since then, she has become the face of SmackDown as the perfect heel GM. What are her credentials? Try this.
Vickie Guerrero has never been shy about her animosity towards certain superstars, and her love and affection for another has made her the perfect match for a roster full of future hall of famers. From The Undertaker to Triple H to even Batista, Vickie has done everything in her power to make their lives as miserable as possible. Even former B/R Wrestling Writer Nadene Dodge found herself writing weekly pieces expressing her disdain for Guerrero.
But today, she has taken a more active role with her show. She has ensured that Edge will be WWE Champion at least one more time before the end of the year. She has stacked the deck against every superstar that her "husband" will face at a later time. And it's clear that if she continues getting physical with the superstars, that she can become the new Stephanie McMahon of SmackDown. I say that because she can be loved by some and loathed by others. Just like the Billion Dollar Princess.
