5 Players Who Have Fallen out of the NFL's Top 100 at Midseason
Over the last offseason, the NFL Network released its list of the top 100 players in the NFL, as voted by the players.
Even though this list was created by the players themselves, there were plenty of eyebrow-raising rankings that are being proven wrong this season, as well as some surprise drop-offs from other players.
Let's take a look at players who have earned themselves off of the top 100 list.
Donovan McNabb
1 of 5Once ranked dead last at No. 100, McNabb has surely played his way off a list he probably never deserved to be on in the first place.
McNabb and the Vikings offense has been inconsistent enough to get Christian Ponder off the bench.
While a lot of the Vikings' offensive woes are not necessarily McNabb's fault, he still does not deserve to be on the top 100 list.
Joe Flacco
2 of 5Joe Flacco started off pretty well with a great game against the Steelers, but has yet to repeat his performance.
Flacco is maddeningly inconsistent. The Jacksonville game is enough to take him off the list, but when you include the eggs he laid against the Titans and Jets, Joe Flacco can no longer be on the top 100 list.
Mike Williams
3 of 5Mike Williams was a huge part of the Buccaneers' success in 2010, but he has fallen off a cliff so far this season.
It cannot really be attributed to anything in particular, but his numbers have taken a huge dive this season.
Williams was an extremely talented player coming out of Syracuse, but character concerns allowed him to fall to the Bucs in the middle of the draft.
The early returns on Williams were good, but the sudden drop-off in production is alarming.
Andre Gurode
4 of 5Once a big, bruising center for the Dallas Cowboys, Gurode has now been starting for the Baltimore Ravens, only because the regular starter at guard, Ben Grubbs, has been out with an injury.
Gurode has been decent, but he has been a liability at times.
Gurode has had a nice career, but his days as a top center in the NFL are over.
Josh Freeman
5 of 5After an encouraging first two seasons, Freeman is looking like he simply has regressed.
He is missing receivers, holding on to the ball for far too long and is struggling to make simple reads.
Tampa Bay needs to figure out what is wrong with Freeman, because his development is of the utmost importance this season.
As he regresses, so does this young Buccaneers team.
