Hank Steinbrenner Wants to Bring in Manny Ramirez

The signing of CC eliminates the possibility of the Yankees getting Teix. I can’t disagree with Hank about obtaining Manny Ramirez, though. When I first heard the Yankees were interested in Manny...I wasn’t very happy. I have a different view on it now. We all know Manny pretty much quit on the Sox, but there is no doubt that he is one of the best players in the game today.

You can’t really say or predict will happen down the road. We already have the biggest circus in town, in Alex Rodriguez. So Manny won’t really be the only focus of attention.

I think if Manny comes to the Yankees, it will make A-Rod a much better player. He will see better pitches, as nobody will pitch to Manny. Put A-Rod third in the lineup, and place Manny in the clean-up spot. You will create the most lethal combination I have ever seen.

They are arguably the two best hitters in baseball. It will be sort of like the Ortiz/Ramirez duo, but even better. You notice how good Ortiz was with Manny hitting behind him? When Manny left the Sox, Papi’s numbers dropped.

If Ramirez protects Alex in the lineup, it will allow A-Rod to hit better in pressure situations. Another thing...how much fun would the Yanks/Sox rivalry be with Manny on the Yanks? It will create a lot of headlines and interest from the fans.
