Derek Jeter To Represent Team USA in WBC
Derek Jeter wants to play for Team USA next year in the upcoming World Baseball Classic. Derek was in Las Vegas today promoting the WBC. Davey Johnson will be the manager of Team USA, and he believes that Jeter will be the leader of the team.
Johnson said that he would like Dustin Pedroia to be on the team as well. Jeter at shortstop, and Dustin at second base. The only time you see Yankees and Red Sox getting along. Haha.

The players who are participating in the WBC will be reporting to Spring Training on these mandatory dates:
- Feb. 14 for pitchers and catchers
- Feb. 17 for position players.
- Team USA will report to Clearwater, FL on Mar. 2. They will play their first game of the tournament against Canada at Rogers Centre on Mar. 2.
"“I don’t want to put that much pressure on him, he’s a great player,” said Johnson, who managed Team USA to a bronze medal in this past Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. “He leads by example. He really enjoys the game. He shows all that just in the way he goes about it. He leads by performance.”
