Week 8 Fantasy Football Rankings: DeMarco Murray and Players Who Will Fall Flat

Mick AkersOct 29, 2011

Fantasy owners are always looking for that player who is going to have a breakout performance, and once it happens, that doesn't always carry over to the following week.

Here is the Dallas Cowboys' breakout star DeMarco Murray and two players who can put up big points, but will let their owners down in Week 8.

Marques Colston, WR, New Orleans Saints

After having a huge game against the lowly Indianapolis Colts last week where racked up 98 yards and two touchdowns, Saints wideout Marques Colston won't have anywhere near the numbers he had in Week 7 when he and the Saints take on the St. Louis Rams.

The Rams are struggling at the moment, but have a solid pass defense and will hold Colston to single-digit scoring this week.

Matt Schaub, QB, Houston Texans

After throwing for 296 yards and two touchdowns in Week 7 against the Tennessee Titans, Matt Schaub will have a tough go-at-it this week when the Texans meet the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Jaguars, fresh off their sleeper win over the Baltimore Ravens on Monday, have the sixth-best pass defense in the NFL and will make it a tough game in the air for an offense still missing Andre Johnson.

Look for Schaub to have just one touchdown to go along with one interception and under 200 yards this week, making him a low-end double-digit scorer, which will not go over well with owners who will put their faith in the QB after last week's success.

DeMarco Murray, RB, Dallas Cowboys

After last week's huge breakout game for Dallas Cowboys' rookie running back DeMarco Murray, he will put up nowhere near his 253 yards and one touchdown in Week 8.

The Cowboys are facing the rival Philadelphia Eagles, which have said they will make it a point to stop the Cowboys' run offense.

The Eagles are coming of a bye week, where they are incredible 12-0 under coach Andy Reid, and will look add to that success starting with the play of their defensive line.

The defensive line play has been down this year for the Eagles, but will get a boost with Pro Bowl defensive end Trent Cole returning to action.

Look for Murray to look like a rookie this week and not even break double-digit scoring on Sunday.
