The Rock's WWE Return Will Usher in a Wave of Veterans

Donald WoodOct 29, 2011

The Rock has come back to WWE, and it’s almost time for him to show his face on Raw.

The WWE universe has been abuzz over the return of the charismatic figure known as The Rock, and what we know as wrestling today is going to take a turn for the exciting.

When John Cena, the best thing the WWE has going today, announced that he wanted to team up with one of the greatest to ever step inside the squared circle in The Rock, the excitement for the WWE spanned generations like it hasn’t in years.

Fans across the world don’t want to wait for their nostalgia pop anymore, and they don’t have to.

Wrestle Inc. is reporting about the presence of The Rock on Monday’s edition of Raw:

"

It was revealed on SmackDown that Monday night's RAW will open with The Rock announcing his decision on whether to accept John Cena's offer to team with him against Awesome Truth at Survivor Series. No word if this is taped or if The Rock will appear live.

"

The WWE has been seeing the interest in the return of The Rock, and they will be putting the full-fledged return of many veterans into the work to capitalize with the full rush of older fans.

Names like Undertaker, Mick Foley and Chris Jericho have been rumored to be returning to the WWE soon, and the fact that the rush of names has been welcomed back opens the doors to all new possibilities.

Kevin Nash and The Rock are just two of the wrestlers who have already been brought back, and, in addition, guys like Booker T and Stone Cold Steve Austin have expressed interest in coming back.

Vince McMahon has been a real stickler with the notion that all returning stars must be on the road for the extent of the booking, but with the help of Triple H talking Vinny Mac off the ledge, older stars can just come and work short programs.

There are so many huge former WWE stars that would love another run at the big time if the people in charge would eat their pride, and it looks like now more than ever, McMahon may be doing just that.
