WWE Releases Maryse: Who Will Step Up and Take Her Spot?

Yesterday, news broke that Maryse has been released by WWE.

My initial reaction was of little surprise. She had not been on WWE TV for a while, and I barely noticed her being gone. Now that she really is gone, how can I miss her?

It was the same deal with Melina, Masters and others earlier. If you aren't even on every week, how can I "miss" them? It makes no sense...

I am sure Maryse will land on her feet somewhere. She is a pretty girl. She is a "celebrity," and she has a WWE past that is worth big bucks on the open market.

Now that she is gone, yet another diva's spot open up. This was one of the reason I had no problem with Alicia Fox beating Natayla on Raw. Who is Beth Phoenix going to feud with for the next six months?

Eve? Kelly Kelly again? Nattie can't turn face for a long time yet. Kharma will be back for Wrestle Mania to face Beth, so what is there to do now?

Alicia Fox stepped up and won. Looking at the rest of the roster, I am not very interested in seeing many other "Beth vs. (blank)" matches. I just don't see many other options.

Layla is the only candidate I see, but she is currently out as well. Right now, the women of the WWE need to step up their games. There is a spot open. Who is going to take it?

AJ? Rosa? Or how about my favorite Aksana? There are tons more to choose from, but one thing is clear. Beth needs opponents, and she needs them now!
