This year's World Series was one of the most exciting in recent history. From the football-type numbers in Game 3 to miscommunications in Game 5 to the miracle comeback in Game 6, this series was full of ups and downs for both teams.
The Cardinals were one strike away from elimination twice in Game 6
The team battled back and won the game, taking the series to seven games. At that point, it just seemed like this team was destined to win. They were.
Just two months after it seemed all hope at a postseason berth was gone, the Cardinals have claimed the title of World Champions.
The championship marks the 11th for the team, the most recent coming in 2006.
When the team won in 2006, the victory parade was held just two days after the final pitch of the series was thrown.
