WWE News: 10 Bizarrely Random Pro Wrestling Stories from This Week

Alfred KonuwaOct 28, 2011

The week before Halloween has not been without its share of pro wrestling-related news items. As always, the 24-hour news cycle has been spinning; however, there has been a particular air of bizarreness surrounding a handful of news items.

As WWE prepares for what will be an interesting Halloween edition of RAW, many stories have come out of left field to both complement and compete with the WWE's upcoming special in the bizarre department.

Hornswoggle Prepares to Meet Muppet Idols in a Very Painful Fashion

1 of 10

As if the Muppets coming to Monday Night RAW isn't bad enough for the average fan over the age of 12, Hornswoggle will be guaranteed to have some form of involvement as the lifelong Muppets fan prepares to meet his make-believe idols.

'Swoggle, who already has multiple Muppets tattoos, has prepared for the internally hyped Halloween episode of RAW by getting even more Muppets ink.  TMZ picked up a story on WWE's smallest superstar making an appointment at a tattoo parlor to pay permanent homage to Slater, Waldorf and Fozzie Bear.

Knowing WWE, and their bullying ways, Vince and co. may be salivating at the opportunity to deny Hornswoggle a chance to have what would be a dream TV segment with the Muppets on RAW.

Medusa Rises from Oblivion to Diss Eve

2 of 10

For all 12 of you who have been wondering what ever happened to former WWE Women's Champion/Pioneer Alundra Blaze AKA Medusa, the women's wrestling legend resurfaced via Facebook as she commented live during Vengeance.

Medusa made headlines when she called out the likes of Kevin Nash and Eve, who she said was nothing more than a "model."

Eve, who refers to herself as a model via her Twitter account, indirectly addressed her rather grizzled critics with the following tweet:

"

To answer some questions I have received, having a couple of photoshoots doesn’t make you a “model”. I was never a model. My degree is in engineering, & I pursued dance professionally for a while. Now I’m a WWE Diva & not going anywhere anytime soon. Deal with it!

Headbangers Call out Top Tag Teams in Wrestling

3 of 10

Speaking of left field and oblivion, Attitude Era tag team the Head Bangers have reunited and are now setting their sights on some of the industry's top tag teams, including Mexican-America, Air Boom and "Wrestling's Greatest Tag Team" of Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas.

Evan Bourne has since responded on behalf of Air Boom, saying: "Love that the Headbangers want to challenge Air Boom. Attitude Era vs. Altitude Era!"

Still no word as to whether or not the Head Bangers will issue a challenge to Sting and Hogan to keep things within their age group.

Vince McMahon Shows His Age with Most Recent Blowup at a Zack Ryder T-Shirt

4 of 10

In an instance that added much more validity that Vince McMahon is becoming increasingly senile, the WWE Chairman recently "freaked out" upon learning of the catch phrase printed on the hot-selling Zack Ryder t-shirts.

Forget the perpetual sellouts at live events, McMahon was incensed at the "take care, spike your hair" mantra of the cult icon that has been mass printed on his t-shirt.

Apparently, McMahon doesn't like the word "spike" included on the t-shirt as his "competition" of TNA Impact airs on Spike TV.

Wait until McMahon learns that the letters "TNA" are included in the name Randy Orton.  Perhaps this is the reason for Orton's recent mid-card decline?

Bateman and Maxine: Not Another NXT Wedding

5 of 10

As the marathon season of NXT drags on into its 30th-plus week, wedding bells are ringing as the scarcely viewed Internet program will be featuring a wedding between on-screen couple Derrick Bateman and Maxine.

Bateman proposed to Maxine following an upset win over Tyson O'Neil.  This will be the second wedding to air on NXT after the failed nuptials between Goldust and Aksana.

Muppets on Commentary During WWE RAW?

6 of 10

Jim Ross is expected to accept the Michael Cole Challenge issued last week on RAW, but that will leave an empty announce booth as the two rivals once again wage war.

The Muppets, who will be guest-starring on RAW this coming Monday, have been discussed internally as possible replacements for Michael Cole during his match with Jim Ross.

Despite my strong sentiments that this will be the worst RAW show of the year, I actually do not mind the thought of the Muppets on commentary, as almost anything could be considered an upgrade to Cole's commentary these days.

Is an Otunga-Hudson Split on the Horizon?

7 of 10

Should his wrestling career fail to pan out, David Otunga may forever be known as the guy who married megastar Jennifer Hudson.

According to swirling rumors, such a distinction may be in danger as the reports began to surface that their pending nuptials were placed on hold as Otunga struggled with signing a pre-nuptial agreement.

Sources close to the couple have since denied these claims, but it would be interesting to see how WWE handled Otunga's character should he garner mainstream attention for a possible split from Hudson.

Great Khali Faces Yet Another Brush with the Law

8 of 10

It seems that there are three certainties in life: death, taxes and Khali being in legal disputes when traveling to his home country of India.

This particular legal dispute stems from a housing dust up.  Khali has expressed interest in building a wrestling school in India; however, a neighbor claims that the zone in which he wants to build the school will be encroaching on his area.

I don't know what's stranger—this story in and of itself, or the fact that Khali, of all people, wants to teach people how to wrestle.

The Iron Shiek: Wrestling Legend, Incoherent Rambler, Comedian?

9 of 10

Those with the pleasure of following the Iron Sheik on Twitter will be delighted to know that the Iron Sheik is coming to a comedy club near you.

Sheik has been announced as the headlining comedy act at an upcoming dinner with WWE Hall of Famers Tony Atlas and Harley Race.

Whether intentional or not, this figures to be absolutely hilarious.

Ric Flair to Lay Down Some Hip-Hop Tracks?

10 of 10

Ric Flair has been sampled for rapper Pusha T's newest single, entitled "What Dreams are Made of."

In the single, clips of Flair cutting promos about his (former) riches and fortune are highlighted to assist the rapper with his own lyrical flaunting of wealth.
