WWE: 4 Reasons Why Alberto Del Rio vs. CM Punk Is Perfect
Survivor Series is now less than two weeks away and John Cena is out of the WWE Championship picture. With Cena distracted by the Rock and Awesome Truth, CM Punk can finally get a proper feud with Alberto Del Rio and try for his second WWE Championship.
I think that this was definitely the right move by the WWE for Survivor Series, so here are four reasons why this new feud is perfect.
Start of a New Feud
1 of 4The WWE always needs good feuds to carry them through pay-per-views and make the build-up for each and every show that much more exciting. CM Punk and Alberto Del Rio are capable of providing an exciting feud.
I see Punk and Del Rio having a three-month feud that will last until the Royal Rumble, when WrestleMania XXVIII feuds begin to develop. These two can put on three great matches at the next three pay-per-views, and do you know what the best part is?
No John Cena
2 of 4John Cena will be out of the title picture!
There is so much speculation as to what will happen with Cena at Survivor Series. Will he turn heel and attack the Rock? Will he play nice with the Rock as they conquer the Awesome truth? Or will Rock turn on Cena?
In any case, I see Cena preoccupied at the conclusion of Survivor Series. Whether he has issues with the Rock or the Miz and R-Truth, John Cena will have issues with someone other than Del Rio and Punk after Survivor Series and will remain out of the WWE Championship picture...for now.
Del Rio Will Look Stronger from a Legitimate Feud with Punk
3 of 4Alberto Del Rio will win at Survivor Series.
Whether he wins clean or dirty (the latter being far more likely), Del Rio will walk out of Survivor Series with the WWE Championship. This will give Del Rio two consecutive wins against arguably the two biggest faces in the business right now in back-to-back pay-per-views.
Not only will this make Del Rio look like a formidable opponent, but more importantly, he will add legitimacy to his WWE Championship reign, which is what he needs the most.
Punk Can Take Rightful Place as WWE Champion at Conclusion
4 of 4CM Punk took his rightful place as WWE Champion back in June at Money in the Bank and even though he retained his title at Summerslam, he has since been preoccupied with scandal and interruption from the likes of Kevin Nash, Triple H and Awesome Truth.
It is time for Punk to become a long-term Champion.
After losing at Survivor Series, I see him getting another match at TLC against Del Rio, where he will win and become the WWE Champion. They will have their rematch at Royal Rumble, where Punk will retain his title and then hold it until at least WrestleMania.
This feud will do a lot of beneficial things for the WWE, where we will get to see less of John Cena holding the title and finally a substantial reign out of Mr. Cult of Personality.
