MLB World Series 2011 Schedule: Rangers Will Travel Back to Texas as Champions
The Texas Rangers are finally going to play Game 6 of the World Series tonight after yesterday’s potential series clincher was postponed.
With an extra day of rest under their belts, the Rangers are more than poised to take the Commissioner’s Trophy with them on the plane ride to Arlington.
Colby Lewis, with his 2.95 ERA and 1-1 postseason record, is set to take the mound to do battle against Jaime Garcia, who boasts a 3.97 ERA and 0-2 record in the 2011 playoffs.

These two battled in Game 2 of this World Series and both pitched very soundly. The Rangers ended up winning that game with a two-run rally during the top of the ninth inning.
I think Lewis is going to be the better pitcher in this matchup because he lives for the spotlight.
Lewis is able to retire batters during the postseason at a much higher clip than he does during the regular season and seems to really bring his best stuff when the lights shine the brightest.
The Rangers will also have Josh Hamilton at his absolute healthiest, as he’s been hindered by a groin issue this series. The extra day of rest will allow him to field better and perhaps even gain some power back in his swing.
Another big boost for the Rangers is their relief pitching. Mike Adams and Neftali Feliz are both phenomenal at finishing out games and the one-two punch could be all the team needs to finish off the St. Louis Cardinals if they go up a few runs.
The X-factor in this game could be the Texas fans travelling to St. Louis.
The rain delay has given them an extra day to find tickets and travel accommodations. They were the reason why the team won the game on Monday, forcing the Cardinals into making bullpen errors.
Having some friendly faces in an opposing ballpark could certainly help inspire the Rangers and quiet the other fans.
