WWE News: 5 Other Needed Survivor Series Matches After John Cena and The Rock
With John Cena and The Rock set to team up, whenever it becomes official, the rest of the card for Survivor Series needs to be ramped up to the highest level possible.
These five other matches would help bring in excitement to the Madison Square Garden crowd and hopefully, make the Thanksgiving classic one to remember.
United States Championship Match: (c) Dolph Ziggler vs. Mason Ryan
1 of 6This match is waiting to happen.
Mason Ryan is being built as the destructive baby face helping out other faces in their time of need.
Dolph Ziggler has been in Ryan's crosshairs on a number of occasions, being demolished each and every time they've collided.
Many fans, myself included, thought that Zack Ryder would finally get his time as a successful singles competitor this past Sunday at Vengeance. Unfortunately, that was not the case as Ziggler pulled out another cheap victory to retain the title.
Ryan has done everything right thus far since returning to regular television. He's helped out Air Boom and Zack Ryder when needed, and he made his unexpected face turn against a group that has been gaining massive steam as of late.
Ryan's favorite target as of late appears to be Ziggler. A match for the U.S. Championship at Survivor Series appears to be imminent.
Tag Team Championship: (c) Air Boom vs. the Usos
2 of 6It's been a while since Air Boom was forced and dubbed as the resurrectors of the tag team division. Once that happened, we all assumed that would open the door for The Usos to finally have their shot at tag team gold.
Sadly, that has not been the case. In fact, their stock has gotten even lower in recent months. Before Air Boom came along, Jey and Jimmy Uso were on the rise on SmackDown. They went on a winning streak, and everything appeared to be going their way.
Enter Air Boom, and the Usos are once again irrelevant. Their most meaningful appearance as of late was breaking up the little spat between Beth Phoenix, Natalya, Eve and Kelly Kelly at Vengeance.
If the WWE truly does want to build up the tag team division, then Air Boom needs more competition. ZigSwag and Awesome Truth have already had their shots and are currently booked in other feuds, leaving only one established team left for their shot at the straps.
The Usos deserve a chance to prove they too can be a formidable tag team and join Air Boom in the rebuilding process.
Team Orton vs. Team Rhodes
3 of 6After the poor showing from Orton at Vengeance and his subsequent squashing of Rhodes, it was presumed that this feud was almost finished. Now, that is not the case.
Rhodes still has beef with Orton and deservedly so. You can't just let a guy bust you open, lose to him and let it go in defeat. Rhodes' stock has been skyrocketing as of late and a Team Rhodes vs. Team Orton match would only help him gain more credibility.
Team Orton could consist of: Randy Orton, Sheamus and Daniel Bryan.
Team Rhodes could consist of: Cody Rhodes, Christian and Wade Barrett.
The beauty of this matchup would be the ability to intertwine three different feuds into one super match. Six of the best pure talents on Smackdown going at it in a not-so-traditional six-man tag team elimination match would solve a number of issues these men have with each other.
Also, putting Barrett and Bryan into a match worth while on a pay-per-view is well overdue, so why not get them involved?
Rhodes, Christian and Barrett have been hanging out lately so their team makes sense along with Orton, Sheamus and Bryan all trying to rid themselves of problem people in their lives.
This is a match that needs to happen.
Divas Championship: (c) Beth Phoenix vs. Eve vs. Kelly Kelly vs. Natalya
4 of 6This match is self explanatory.
Beth has fended off Kelly and Eve on back-to-back showings, all with the help of her trusty sidekick Natalya.
These four have competed in what feels like 25 tag team matches over the past few months on Raw. Now is the time to give all four of them a chance to tear each other apart at the same time.
Kelly is still furious at the way she lost her Diva's title, and Eve put on a pretty good showing against Beth this past Sunday. Both women deserve at least one more chance to win the gold, but they are not the only ones who deserve a chance.
Natalya joined forces with Beth to rid the division of the Barbie doll stereotype currently surrounding it. She's a former champion herself and hasn't gotten her chance to win her title back after Eve took it from her at Royal Rumble.
There is no reason for a triple-threat match with Eve, Kelly and Beth, so adding Natalya into the mix at Survivor Series can help up the ante on what was once a meaningless championship.
World Heavyweight Championship: (c) Mark Henry vs. Big Show vs. Kane
5 of 6This past Sunday, we saw two mammoth men collide in the ring for the World Heavyweight Championship. That ring wouldn't end the match still standing, however, as a superplex from the top rope destroyed the 20-by-20 squared circle.
That match ended in a no contest, making it quite clear that Henry and Big Show are destined to encounter one another again.
Except this time, they should not be the only ones going for the gold.
Big Show was not the only person to be taken out of action on his way to the World Championship. Kane was the second member of the Hall of Pain and should be returning sometime soon to seek his revenge.
Speculation has been surrounding Kane's return, citing a potential return of his famous masks. While I'm not sure if that will happen or not, when Kane does return, he will be one angry fella.
It may not be the prettiest match to watch, but a triple-threat contest with these legendary giants would be certain to bring entertainment of the highest malevolence.
