Jaguars vs. Texans: TV Schedule, Live Streaming, Radio, Game Time and More
The Jacksonville Jaguars (2-5) travel west to take on the division-rival Houston Texans (4-3) in Week 8. The two teams split the season series in 2010, with both sides holding serve at home.
Jacksonville is coming off a huge upset victory over the Baltimore Ravens on Monday Night Football. While it wasn't the most exciting game you'll ever see, the Jaguars defense stepped up in a big way to shut down Ray Rice and Joe Flacco.
Houston picked up a big win of its own against the Tennessee Titans last week, which moved the Texans back into first place in the AFC South. Arian Foster led the way with 115 yards on the ground and 119 more through the air in addition to three touchdowns.

What's at Stake?
If the Jaguars are serious about getting back into the playoff hunt, defeating the Texans is a must. It would bring them back within one game of first place and they would have some serious momentum. Their schedule after next week's bye is very manageable, so don't rule Jacksonville out quite yet.
As for Houston, building a big lead in the division would be ideal so that a Week 17 game against the Titans would be meaningless. Beating the Jags would eliminate another competitor in the division while also building momentum before games against underrated teams from Cleveland and Tampa Bay.

What They're Saying
Vito Stellino of the Florida Times-Union talks about the Jaguars' recent struggles after big wins and what they need to do to make sure history doesn't repeat itself this season.
"The Jaguars have had somewhat of a history of following big wins with disappointing showings the following week. Later in the 2006 season, they were 8-5 after a memorable, 44-17 thrashing of the Colts. The Jaguars then lost their last three games to miss the playoffs. The Colts went on to win the Super Bowl.
In December 2004, they beat the Packers in Green Bay 28-25 to improve to 8-6. They then came home and lost to Houston 21-0, which cost the Jaguars a playoff berth.
"
Jeffrey Martin of the Houston Chronicle takes a look at how the Texans tight ends have stepped up and filled the void left by Andre Johnson in recent weeks.
"Nevertheless, [Owen] Daniels and Joel Dreessen have thrived at their position, which has become a glamour spot in Gary Kubiak's offense. Of quarterback Matt Schaub's 137 completions, 37 - highlighted by Daniels' team-high 27 receptions - have gone to tight ends. That's 27 percent, and the highest it's been in the previous three season was 22, which the team accomplished in 2010 and 2008.
"
Jaguars Player To Watch: QB Blaine Gabbert
Gabbert is still enduring the growing pains most rookies have to deal with during their first season. The Missouri product is completing fewer than 50 percent of his passes and sports a subpar quarterback rating of 69.4. It's not all his fault, though, as he lacks weapons to utilize.
Texans Player To Watch: WR Jacoby Jones
If the Texans want to become an elite offense they'll need a wide receiver to step up opposite of Andre Johnson and become a legitimate threat. Regardless of whether it's Jones or Kevin Walter, they aren't going to advance far in the playoffs without another target out wide performing at a high level.
Key Matchup: Arian Foster vs. Jacksonville front seven
A major reason the Jaguars were able to upset the Ravens on Monday was because they shut down Ray Rice early and often. The usually dynamic dual-threat back found no space and had his worst game of the season. Foster will need to do better if Houston is going to win.
On the Hot Seat: Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker
Sims-Walker returned to Jacksonville after a very unsuccessful stint with the St. Louis Rams and had a minimal impact in his first game. Unless he starts showing some 2009 form in the near future, he'll quickly find himself without a team.
Prediction: Texans 24, Jaguars 17
