Ed Lee Campaign Video: Watch Brian Wilson Go Hammer Time for Lee
What happens when you take San Francisco Giants pitcher Brian Wilson, MC Hammer, Will.I.Am, Ronnie Lott, the founders of Google and Twitter and a group of other prominent people in San Francisco?
You get one, as Wilson would say, “Totally awesome super sweet video that will rock your face off.”
San Francisco’s interim mayor, Ed Lee, is running for re-election on Nov. 8th, and boy has he turned out the big guns for this rendition of MC Hammer’s song “2 Legit 2 Quit.”

Yes, the other cameos are great in this very entertaining video, but it’s Wilson that steals the show, as the charismatic character that he always is. His line of famous Lees really seals what is already a great promotional campaign.
“If your last name is Lee you’re kinda sweet,” he says.
That right there sets the tone for a rousing endorsement. But Wilson follows it up with rattling off some of the greatest Lees in history.
“Bruce Lee, Tommy Lee, Sarah Lee, MotLEE....Crue.”
Will this go on to help the interim mayor win this election on Nov. 8th? Who knows, but what it does do is make the Giants closer seem even more of a likable guy, with a dynamic personality.
From this spot in the mayor’s campaign to his commercials with Taco Bell and 2K Sports for MLB 2K11 and NBA 2K12, Wilson is making a nice way into Hollywood for his career after baseball.
Because, as we all know, you cannot play this game forever. His career could be over tomorrow, and without this side of Wilson, he would be just another retired ball player.
Thankfully, we have “The Beard” showing off his dancing skills in this video for “The Mustache”. Wilson may have won a few votes for Lee, but he sure is winning a lot of popularity for his life outside of baseball.
