WWE Rumors: John Cena Needs to Take His Rightful Place as Leader of NWO

Donald WoodOct 26, 2011

John Cena is the biggest star in the WWE today, and he is one of the greatest stars to ever step foot in the ring.

Love him or hate him, Cena gets people out of their seats. Whether it’s screaming, "Let’s go Cena" or "Cena Sucks!" everyone is on their feet when his music hits!

While Cena has faced serious criticism from hardcore fans over the years, there is a good chance he will have to answer to all of the fans that stuck with him for all of the championship runs and superman feats.

Why, you ask?

Cena is going to turn heel and join up with Miz and R-Truth during their tag match at Survivor Series to screw The Rock out of a victory and begin the road to WrestleMania.

It’s hard to see why Awesome Truth would stop John Cena from winning the WWE title, but it could all be part of the ruse from the WWE. They have swerved us for the purpose of swerving in the past.

This isn’t just conspiracy theory either, folks; there is hard evidence that the nWo is coming back, and John Cena may have a hand in it.

Starting in late August, WWE.com has been constantly adding nWo pieces, teasing a possible return of the former stable.

"

Fifteen years ago, Kevin Nash rocked the world by assembling one of the most influential factions in sports entertainment history—the New World Order. More than a decade later, is WWE on the brink of a new incarnation of the black and white?

"

The WWE uses their sites to help promote storylines and tease things that are going on in the company, and they almost always come to fruition.

Kevin Nash came out to the nWo theme and was seen wearing similar shirts to those he wore in the days of the original incarnation. Again, WWE.com is quick to give merit to the rumors with an omniscient statement:

"

Many viewers familiar with the riffs of the notorious rebel group salivated after the dose of nostalgia, hoping that perhaps the 7-foot former WWE Champion wouldn’t have arrived alone—similar to the days of his black-and-white clad regime. The infamous music also fueled speculation about the possible reformation of The nWo, a theory which really cannot be discounted at this point.

"

nWo sounds great, but why John Cena?

The crowd has been turning on John Cena for years, and everything The Rock said about him and his gimmick were 100 percent true. John Cena needs a change.

With CM Punk taking over as the No. 1 seller of merchandise for the company, the WWE may be feeling froggy when it comes to making the move to finally turn John Cena heel.

The first notion that a heel change may be coming is the change to a black shirt for Cena, and if the WWE sees what they like in his change of gear, his turn will come fast.

The company needs a heel in the Rock vs. Cena feud, and since the fans will cheer Rock no matter what, the WWE will use the heat already on Cena to turn him.

If the WWE does turn Cena heel, it will be one of the biggest risks they have taken as a company in a long time, but something tells me that John Cena would make an excellent heel.

Like Hulk Hogan in WCW, John Cena would have the WWE universe under his thumb.
