NFL Power Rankings Week 8: Which Teams Have Been Biggest Duds?

Chris TrapassoOct 25, 2011

Yesterday, I wrote about how dominant and unstoppable the Baltimore Ravens seemed to be.

After last night's embarrassment, I obviously had them pegged much higher on the Power Rankings than they deserved to be.

At 4-2, it's hard to label them as "duds," but what do you call a team that many have called Super Bowl contenders who lose two road games to inferior teams in humiliating fashion?

After six games, I'll call the Ravens and their offenses duds and won't feel bad about it.

Which other teams have fallen flat this season?

Indianapolis Colts

I realize that Peyton Manning makes this team exponentially better, but he's not a defender. The Colts defense can't stop the run, is porous against the pass and doesn't create turnovers.

Surely their numbers are now skewed thanks to Drew Brees and Co., but what do you want the Saints to do, stop trying to score points?

This is professional football, remember.

Curtis Painter has shown glimpses, then he's brought us back to reality with botched snaps, ill-advised decisions and errant passes.

Disaster.

Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins' Week 7 defeat at the hands of Tim Tebow and the Broncos when they led by 15 with less than three minutes to go sums up their season so far.

They can't win at home, they can't play a full game and they're totally unexciting to watch.

Their free-agent acquisitions have been disappointing, and their quarterback play has been among the league's worst.

St. Louis Rams

The Rams were a game away from making the postseason last year.

Sam Bradford won the Rookie of the Year.

Now the Rams are 0-6 and have what I believe is the worst defense in the NFL. They're giving up nearly 184 yards on the ground per game.

Enough said.
