NFL Picks Week 8: New York Giants and More Favorites You Can Count on
The seventh week of the 2011 NFL season came to a close with a largely forgettable Monday Night Football tilt between the Baltimore Ravens and Jacksonville Jaguars. No doubt many people have lighter pocketbooks, thanks to Baltimore's horrendous performance.
The bright side is that Week 8 is going to be here very soon, and the early spreads are out. Instead of looking back, we might as well look forward.
As we get closer and closer to Sunday, circumstances are going to change. But right now, there are four favorites in Week 8 you can feel comfortable betting on.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Note: All spreads according to Sportsbook.
Cleveland Browns at San Francisco 49ers (-9.5)
It's fair to say at this point that the Browns have problems with their offense. The running game has been nonexistent all season, and Colt McCoy doesn't seem to be capable of carrying the load on his own.
This is a scary prospect for the Browns against a team like the 49ers. The Niners don't let anything through on the ground, and their pass defense looked pretty decent the last time we saw it against the Detroit Lions.
Additionally, the 49ers won 48-3 last time they played at home, and they'll be facing a Browns team that scored just six points in Week 7.
If I had to take a guess, this one's not going to be close.
Cincinnati Bengals (-2.5) at Seattle Seahawks
I'm still not entirely sure what to make of the Bengals, but I do think they'll be able to handle the Seahawks well enough.
While it's true the Seahawks tend to play much better at home, you have to worry about their dreadful offense going up against a team like the Bengals, who rank in the top five in the league against both the run and the pass.
The Bengals may not dominate the Seahawks, but expecting them to cover a 2.5-point spread is definitely reasonable.
Washington Redskins at Buffalo Bills (-6.0)
The Redskins and Bills are going to do battle north of the border at the Rogers Centre, but I fully expect the Bills to bring their formidable offensive attack with them.
This attack will definitely be put to the test against Washington's stingy defense, but the thing that worries me about the Redskins is how John Beck will fare against a Bills defense that has a tendency to pick the ball off. Beck could very well have a Rex Grossman-like afternoon.
I would worry about the Bills going up against Washington's ground game, but the Redskins just lost Tim Hightower to an ACL tear. The Bills don't play good defense, but the Redskins may have a hard time moving the ball.
If so, I think the Bills could easily take this game by a touchdown.
Miami Dolphins at New York Giants (-10.0)
As you may have noticed, the Dolphins are an absolutely terrible football team. When we last saw them, they were letting Tim Tebow pen a Cinderella story.
Eli Manning and the Giants likely won't need to follow Tebow's lead against the Dolphins. I wouldn't count the Giants among the league's elite teams, but they are pretty darn good, especially at home.
Helping the Giants' cause will be the fact the Dolphins simply can't do much on offense. They pretty much have to take what they can get, and they may not get much against the Giants. The Giants, on the other hand, should have no problems moving the ball against Miami's defense.
Don't be surprised if the Giants take this one by two touchdowns.
