WWE Raw: John Cena and the Rock vs. Awesome Truth at Survivor Series
Raw has concluded from the University of Texas and oh what a spectacle it was.
I'm sorry, I can't even fake interest in tonight's show. Coming off of what I felt to be a poor Vengeance performance, WWE decided to follow it up with an even more uneventful Raw. This may seem to be more bashing, but really it's a disgruntled fan trying to pick the brains of Vince McMahon and his cronies nowadays.
Triple H started the show by demanding to kick Kevin Nash's ass and was met with a reply of multiple sledgehammer attacks by Diesel, sending Hunter to the hospital. While the segment helped sell Triple H's potential injury from a botched power bomb on Sunday, all it did was allow Nash to appear on television again for no real reason.

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
If he's the one behind the conspiracy, at least let it go somewhere rather than having him randomly attack people whenever he feels like it.
CM Punk challenged Alberto Del Rio to a WWE Championship match at Survivor Series but had to sell his soul to Funkman in order to do so. Luckily, he refused to do that so now Punk's renegade act can continue after a month of boring character build.
Then we have John Cena wanting to exact revenge on Miz and R-Truth after their actions at Vengeance and what he got was a tag team match with Zack Ryder. Or so we thought.
Ryder was attacked by Awesome Truth before the match even started, forcing it to become a handicap match, which is really what Cena asked for in the beginning.
Of course, the match didn't end in any sort of respectable way as Truth nailed Cena in the head with his signature water bottle. After both Miz and Truth hit their respective finishers, they looked to inflict more pain upon Cena with chairs before Funkman ordered them to leave.
As Miz and Truth were about to leave, Johnny decided that Cena would get to pick his partner at Survivor Series to take on Awesome Truth. He had the option to pick anybody he wanted.
Hmmm...now who could Cena possibly pick to team with him at Survivor Series that would make another Awesome Truth pay-per-view tag team contest matter and solve all of Cena's problems with the duo?
Hmmm...that was a puzzler for all of five seconds. As soon as Cena realized he could pick any partner he wanted, not being limited to current men on the roster, Cena shouted from the rooftop that he picked The Rock to be his partner. He was so into it, he even sprayed his words all over the microphone he was holding.
With the tag team match with Cena and Rock, which has been advertised by the WWE for months now, being discussed on live television, it's nothing but a formality as to the event actually taking place now.
In what could have been used as a creative way to have Cena desperately looking for a partner for Survivor Series, Vince and crew decided to ruin any element of surprise they might have had.
Sure, all of us on here knew those two were going to team up in some capacity no matter what. Yes, they have been running numerous film strips highlighting Rock's in-ring return at SS2. Absolutely, Rock and Cena have a match at Wrestle Mania and need to have some sort of interaction before the holiday season to build it further.
All of these factors considered, there could have at least been some sort of suspense to the circumstance. Cena could have spent the next couple of weeks trying to convince people to team with him to pop the enormous pimple that is Awesome Truth. Facing rejection and desperation, Cena could turn to Rock on his Raw return before SS2 and beg him to set their differences aside for the greater good.
Cena could give Rock a heartfelt speech about how if Rock didn't team with him, than their match at Wrestle Mania may never happen because Miz and Truth would be able to continue to run amok in the WWE and possibly destroy the business Rock says he loves.
Even though Rock still has the option to decline Cena's tag team invite, all of us know that it's only a matter of time until he accepts.
Rock and Cena being a tag team is a match made in heaven for those who fondly remember the Attitude Era and still love the current era of the WWE. They are two of the greatest and biggest stars to ever step foot in the ring for the company and teaming them together can only generate more attention.
WWE pulled the trigger on this matchup at least one week too early. There is no longer any sort of potential suspense in the matter.
Once again, I'm not complaining. Well, maybe a little. What I'm saying is that Survivor Series is suppose to have a Wrestle Mania feel to it. Now, it can be a huge letdown as the build up has been botched.
