WWE Should No Longer Use Jim Ross in Physical Storylines

Monday night on Raw, Michael Cole issued a challenge to Jim Ross.

Considering how Jim Ross has been used in the last few months, it will probably devolve into a physical match. That's all the WWE has seemed to want to use him for.

However, it's the last thing that Jim Ross needs.

It seems as if the WWE loves to abuse Jim Ross whenever they don't know what to do with him.

From switching him from Raw to Smackdown without his knowledge.

From having to punch Michael Cole in the mouth and damaging his hand.

To having barbecue sauce poured all over him.

To being fired in front of his wife without prior knowledge.

It wasn't the first time that had happened, either.

Ross has been through it all and the list mentioned above doesn't even begin to touch it.

Yet the WWE continues to put him through physical matches. He is not a wrestler and has never claimed to be, but Vince McMahon seems to be determined to use him in that capacity.

The man is arguably one of the greatest commentators to ever live. He has worked through several bouts of Bell's palsy, which freezes the features in one's face, and has come back to commentate for the WWE. To come back from such a form of facial paralysis and still be one of the best ever is quite an accomplishment.

He is also less than half a year away from turning 60. Regardless of his physique—which is terrible anyway—he shouldn't be stepping into the ring at that age.

It takes opportunities away from the wrestlers who might have had matches in his place. It takes the attention off them and takes away there chance to make money. It even puts Ross in physical danger that he has never trained for or asked to be part of.

What's more, it takes Ross away from what he does best and humiliates him further. Instead of just letting the man do what he does best and retire when he chooses to, they continue to abuse him.

Fans love Jim Ross, but they love him on the mic. They don't love him in the ring. If the WWE can't allow him to do that, they should just let him go. Otherwise, they just continue to hurt a loyal employee.
