Tim Tebow vs Lions

Looking ugly most of the game, much will be made of how Tim Tebow looked as he led his team back to victory against the Dolphins—and rightfully so. The end result is a good one for most fantasy owners (pending on your leagues scoring rules) because the young man can run the football, and when you can rack up 60 yards or more as a quarterback, it’s going to make you a solid fantasy option.

While Tebow did throw two touchdown passes, he only posted 165 yards through the air, but at the end of the day, he likely posted over 20 fantasy points in your league.

There will be better stat days for Tebow in the future, and that is a scary thought when you consider here’s another young running quarterback who could perform as a top five quarterback in fantasy football leagues. Like Cam Newton’s Panthers, the Broncos are a losing team and will need Tebow to make plays throughout each game just to have a shot to win at the end.

Unless you have one of the top stud quarterbacks in the game, it’s worth a look to make Tebow your starting quarterback the rest of the season. If anything, you have a player who should garner some trade interest, so don’t be afraid to test the waters for a key running back or receiver that would help your team.

Matthew Stafford at Broncos

It’s time to be concerned about Matthew Stafford’s health, as defenses are quickly understanding how to slow down the Lions' offense, and that is by bringing pressure. Stafford was thrown around like a rag doll for the second week in a row, as the Falcons finally looked like the defense we expected to start the season.

John Abraham was a beast, and if Stafford is healthy enough to play this week, he will get to know Elvis Dumervil and Von Miller up close and personal. Stafford still makes for a start-worthy player this week, but only time will tell if he can make it through the game from start to finish.

Christian Ponder at Panthers

If Adrian Peterson is limited with an ankle injury this week, the Vikings may need to lean on Christian Ponder to win against the Panthers. While that will be a tough task on the road, Ponder has looked good in his time on the field since taking over for Donovan McNabb. Ponder has much to learn, and Panther defensive backs should take advantage of him for a couple of interceptions. Look for Ponder to make some nice plays by using his running ability to extend a play and work his receivers open.
