CC Sabathia Rumored to Have Declined Yankees Offer

The Yankees are rumored to be out of the Sabathia sweepstakes. I haven't heard anything else on this, but it is interesting. It's hard to believe that he would reject the offer before getting any other offers. Don't get crazy guys...this might not be true.

It’s been confirmed that the Giants had discussions with CC Sabathia’s camp last night, and they expect to have face-to-face meetings with the left-hander in San Francisco after the winter meetings.

It sure must’ve have been a productive discussion, because word is that Sabathia has declined the Yankees’ six-year, $140 million offer. (I must stress that’s unconfirmed, but talk is spreading fast. If true, look for the Yanks to get hyper-aggressive on A.J. Burnett.)

CC Sabathia is convinced the Giants will become a serious bidder for his services in the coming days and weeks, a person familiar with his thinking told the Star-Ledger.

Tony Jackson of the Los Angeles Daily News stated earlier today that "Giants officials are supremely confident that they are going to sign" Sabathia. A meeting is believed to be set up for this weekend.
