Michael MillOct 24, 2011

There were some of the best teams in the NFL that were on their bye in Week 8.

Historically, teams coming off bye weeks have the advantage over their opponents the following week.

Here are three teams coming off of Week 7 byes that will take out their Week 8 opponents.

Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles have one of the most intriguing games this weekend, which is why the game will be featured on Sunday night.

The Eagles will take on the Dallas Cowboys in an NFC East rivalry game.

What makes this game so intriguing is that the winner will likely be the favorite to win the division after this week.

Sorry Giants, nobody is giving you the respect you deserve.

With Andy Reid as the head coach, the Eagles are undefeated following their bye weeks. With the extra preparation, Reid is able to come up with fantastic game plans.

The Eagles got some momentum following the win against Washington in Week 6. The team looked very improved.

They will ride off that momentum this weekend.

New York Giants

The team that is actually leading the NFC East, and should be the favorites to win the division, is the New York Giants.

The Giants are sitting with a 4-2 record with one of the most undervalued quarterbacks in the league.

Eli Manning currently ranks fourth in the league in quarterback rating, trailing only Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady and Drew Brees.

Manning has looked good this year. He will look even better after the bye week against a pathetic Miami Dolphins team.

San Francisco 49ers

Jim Harbaugh deserves the coach of the year award following just seven weeks into the NFL season.

The 49ers are sitting with a 5-1 record. This is a team nearly identical to the one that won just six games last year.

After the bye week, the 49ers will match that win total already in 2011.

San Francisco isn't the most talented team on offense or defense. They are perhaps the most efficient. This team is an overtime field goal away from being undefeated.

Sorry Cleveland, this team may be the most confident in the league right now. Not much is going to slow them down.
