WWE Vengeance 2011: Awesome Truth Beat Triple Punk...What Does That Mean?

Giulio RomanoOct 24, 2011

Vengeance 2011 is in the books.

There definitely was some hell to pay last night as even the ring itself became a victim of circumstance. Though it wasn't the most exciting event of the year, the right thing happened more than once and now we can move on to bigger and better things.

I refer to there having been no titles changing hands and the right people winning their respective matches. I still believe Cody Rhodes should have won his match, as his opponent, Randy Orton, did not need the victory at all.

We don't live in a perfect world after all right?

With that said, the road to WrestleMania can now begin for some people. Awesome Truth met and defeated the seemingly-unstoppable team of CM Punk and Triple H in a vicious match. The seeds for some intense, future rivalries were sown last night.

Kevin Nash was also invited to the party and delivered a special message to The Game: "No one double-crosses Big Sexy and gets away with it."

There truly must be a great conspiracy if The Rock is set to return to team with John Cena against the forces of darkness.

What now? Where do we go from here?

Good Friends, Better Enemies Volume 2

1 of 6

We've seen this before, only it was between Kevin Nash and Shawn Michaels almost two decades ago.

Former best friends colliding with one another is what I see happening now. Any genius can figure this one out.

The scenario/feud between Triple H and Kevin Nash may have lost a little heat over the last few months, as the giant killer wasn't medically cleared to compete and had to film a scene for a movie.

All that aside, we can finally get this in the ring for our viewing pleasure. These superstars are legends and what they will bring to the table is sure to make us remember the good old days.

Rumor has it, the Heartbreak Kid may get involved in the whole angle. Yes! I wish that!

First we have tonight's RAW to start everything. I hope we get an amazing exchange between the two. The right thing to do would be to make us wait until the next pay-per-view event which would be Survivor Series.

I hope this feud lasts until the 2012 Royal Rumble. Afterwards, someone else will pick up the ball and roll with it.

A New Power Is Rising

2 of 6

Yes my pets...The Miz is my pick for Triple H's opponent at WrestleMania XXVIII.

There have been rumors and I watched carefully for a sign. As the Awesome Truth/Triple Punk feud carried on, I had a flash: this must happen for The Miz to take charge of his future and live up to Vince McMahon's expectations.

Somewhere around January or February (if not at the Rumble itself), either Triple H or The Miz will cost the other something of great value. Whether it's a WWE championship or Rumble victory, it doesn't matter. The fire will be ignited and it will all explode at the show of shows in Miami.

I have been a fan of Miz throughout his career and thought he had a great one so far. But this would definitely be one of his greatest moments. To defeat the King of Kings on the grandest stage of them all would be just as fantastic as regaining the heavyweight championship of the world.

Triple H would help elevate the future talent to new heights and he, himself would surely become a hero to many as he would demonstrate ultimate humility.

It must and it will happen. Look for a sign.

All Signs Point to the Annual Series...Who Will Survive?

3 of 6

The annual Survivor Series pay-per-view event has been less than spectacular the last few years. A a result, the WWE figureheads have decided to pull out all the stops and dust off The Rock for the occasion.

A great five-on-five traditional match would make all the die-hard fans really happy. It would allow for any superstar to be pinned without the shame of having an actual loss to their record.

This event is merely a platform for even greater events to happen over the remainder of the year and early 2012. Right up to Mania.

Let's say we have on one side The Rock, John Cena, CM Punk and Triple H to take on WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio, Kevin Nash, R-Truth and The Miz. Although it doesn't seem like much of a chance, it does set in motion what could be happening in the future.

The Rock and Cena already have their program set. The Superhero is finally out of the title picture for a while and should focus on the Great One alone.

Kevin Nash and Triple H can officially begin their two-three month feud right in time for Miz to get involved. Miz will eventually part ways with Truth, whom I really can't see going further than he has at this point in his career.

It's sad but I personally have no clue where to insert him...maybe you folks can enlighten me on that.

There is room for a superstar to be added on both sides. I will let you pick. Please write your picks below in the comment section.

That leaves only one more pairing right? You guessed it.

CM Punk Returns to Reclaim What Was Stolen from Him...the WWE Championship

4 of 6

There are only so many more months I can stomach a Del Rio or Cena holding the WWE championship.

A wave of freshness is coming. CM Punk should be reinstated into the title picture in the coming weeks. If I had my way, he would regain his precious gold come TLC or Royal Rumble. That, along with holding onto the championship at least until SummerSlam, would make everything better.

I had high hopes for Alberto Del Rio in the past. His character should have been handled with care, as he is an incredible athlete and would make an incredible heel if not booked as a total coward. Perhaps a feud versus the Straightedge Superstar will reveal to us how great a performer he can really be.

Let me ask you this: Why do you think WWE builds up its bad guys like that? From Christian to The Miz to Del Rio...why are potentially great heels made to look like total cowards?

It doesn't accomplish anything besides ruining an otherwise excellent character.

There will come a time when Chris Jericho returns to the ring. I would not have anyone else rightfully challenge CM Punk for the title both of WWE and the moniker of "best in the world."

Just who is the best in the world? All will be revealed in time...we must be patient.

A side note: Watch for a title picture with CM Punk, Chris Jericho and The Miz next year. Mix and match these three as you like but keep your eyes open.

Someone of Great Power Is Pulling the Strings...

5 of 6

...we just won't find out who it is yet. This is actually fun, but who is it?

The Puck? He as played many parts over the millenia but never that of "straight" man. John Laurinaitis simply answers to a higher power so it isn't him.

Riddler? He is in an insane asylum. I should be in there sometimes too with all my wack!

I hope it's not Vince McMahon, as it is too easy and has been done before. It must be someone else, an incredible force we just didn't see coming.

Not for nothing, we see the VP of talent relations text like crazy and remain calm after Nash returned. Someone simply re-hired him, that's all.

I would love if it was a woman and not some guy in a suit. Stephanie McMahon-Levesque? That beautiful lady needs to be on TV more.

It could also be The Undertaker or even Shane McMahon, the prodigal son, who wishes to regain his claim to the World Wrestling Entertainment throne.

An hour is left before RAW and I'm getting goosebumps.

Everything Is Falling into Place

So many times, WWE has dropped the ball on us lately. We don't ask for that much and even though our opinions vary, we all want the same thing: exciting programming with superstars and divas we love to support.

This roller coaster ride that is the WWE year begins again soon, as the Road to WrestleMania is almost upon us.

With the ratings going down and the product becoming stale, the company still has options here to ensure it regains its former glory. There is plenty of great material listed here with which to play.

Looking at this promo poster of The Rock vs. John Cena gives me hope that the WWE will be great again. So much is riding upon this match, but what about everything else?

The world titles, The Streak, the Superstars of the future (Miz, Punk, Rhodes, Sheamus, Ziggler), the Divas and tag team divisions.

We still haven't figured everything out, but we will and it will be awesome.
