Week 8 Waiver Wire: Knowshon Moreno and 5 Other Running Backs to Add
A number of running backs went down in Week 7 to injury, and with backs such as Matt Forte, Michael Turner, Darren McFadden, Shonn Green and James Starks off in Week 8 with byes, running backs are going to be in demand on the waiver wire this week.
Here are your best options to add:
Knowshon Moreno, Broncos

Colts Release Kenny Moore

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Starting running back Willis McGahee broke his hand on Sunday, which means there is the potential that Moreno will become fantasy relevant once again.
We still don't have a read on how long McGahee will be out, but a broken hand for a running back would seem to be an injury that keeps him out a couple of weeks. And with Tim Tebow under center, the Broncos will do plenty of running.
Moreno should see touches.
DeMarco Murray, Cowboys
The 253 yards is hard to ignore, and that should be enough to make Murray the undisputed No. 1 pickup on the waiver wire this week. But I wouldn't get too excited about Murray saving the day for your fantasy backfield.
While Murray will likely get the start next week with Felix Jones still nursing a bad ankle, Murray has been hurt throughout his football career, too. You should still add him if you need a running back, but don't expect a season-changing addition moving forward.
Murray might not rush for 253 total yards the rest of the season.
Roy Helu, Redskins
Tim Hightower's knee injury takes one guy off Mike Shanahan's running back wheel, and one of these games it's going to land on Helu.
He's more explosive than Ryan Torain and can contribute as a receiver out of the backfield. Torain has already had a few cracks this season at holding down the spot.
Add Helu with the chance of him taking the Redskins' starting spot sometime in 2011.
Delone Carter, Colts
The Colts rushed back Joseph Addai and he re-injured his hamstring during the Colts' blowout loss to the Saints Sunday night.
In his absence, Carter nearly went over 100 yards and added a score. He will still split touches with Donald Brown, but Carter looks like he has more long-term potential in the Colts' offense this season.
Kregg Lumpkin, Bucs
The Bucs have a bye in Week 8, so Lumpkin won't be an immediate help for your fantasy backfield.
However, the Bucs backfield is banged up and Earnest Graham is done for the season with a torn Achilles tendon. He's a risk, as Lumpkin produced just 15 yards filling in, but he should get touches when the Bucs resume play in Week 9.
